Inspiring Conversations with Patrick Murakami of Uprise Unlimited

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Murakami.

Hi Patrick, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I work with business owners who are making good money but have no idea what their actual profit is,the ones too busy putting out fires to build the systems that would prevent them.

Six years ago, I started my insurance agency with $260. Not startup capital, just $260 total that I spent figuring out social media over multiple years. That agency has generated nearly $4 million in lifetime sales, and I’ve built two additional businesses since then. All organic marketing, zero ad spend.

Most successful business owners I meet are stuck in the same trap: they’re great at what they do, but they’re running their business like it’s still a side hustle. No standard operating procedures. No training processes. They couldn’t tell you their profit margins if their life depended on it, and they have zero exit strategy because the business only works when they’re there.

I help them build the infrastructure they should have had from day one. We set up KPIs that actually matter, implement CRMs that work, create SOPs so they’re not the only one who knows how things get done. In group coaching or one-on-one sessions, we tackle the real work—not just talk about it.

My approach comes from learning that I didn’t know rock bottom had an ocean floor. Those depths taught me you’re never actually stuck—you can always reset and rebuild. I bring that perspective because most breakthroughs happen when you stop believing your current chaos is just “how business works.”

The entrepreneurs I work with don’t need another guru. They need someone who’s built multiple businesses from scratch and can show them how to build something that runs without them.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not many people get training on what sustaining success actually looks like. Most of us assume that once you “make it,” the hard part is over. That’s not true.

I’ve faced two situations that exposed every weakness in my approach: dealing with success too early, and growing too fast without the right systems in place. Both taught me that we all have grit inside us, but certain circumstances force us to find it.

Success without infrastructure is just as dangerous as failure. When you’re growing rapidly but don’t have proper staff, training processes, or systems, every day becomes crisis management. Clients and customers assume you have it all figured out because the revenue looks good, but behind the scenes, you’re drowning.

I’ve experienced both sides, the struggle of building from nothing and the different kind of struggle that comes with growth you’re not prepared for. Those experiences taught me that sustainable success isn’t about working harder; it’s about building the foundation that can handle what you’re trying to create.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Uprise Unlimited helps business owners who are profitable but lack the systems to scale without burning out. Most successful entrepreneurs I work with are great at what they do, but they’re operating without knowing what they don’t know—relying on manual processes and inconsistent sales approaches that limit their growth.
What sets me apart is simple: I’ve actually built what my clients are trying to build. I’m not a coach who teaches theory—I’m an entrepreneur who’s done the work. I went from worse than paycheck to paycheck—splitting rent and utilities across two paychecks, going weeks without food, rationing potatoes when that’s all I had—to building multiple businesses that generate millions in sales through organic marketing with zero ad spend.
My approach focuses on sales systems and automation that actually drive results. We build automated lead funnels, create repeatable sales processes, and implement systems that convert prospects into clients while you focus on delivery. Instead of chasing every lead manually, we create systems that attract, nurture, and close business predictably.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is that my clients don’t just grow their revenue—they build predictable sales machines that generate consistent results. That’s the difference between learning from someone who’s read about it and someone who’s lived it.

How do you think about happiness?
Waking up knowing I’m not done yet, with my family right there with me—that’s what makes me happy. Teaching my son how to manage his businesses, having the freedom to take nearly three months off work to be there for his extracurricular activities, being home for dinner almost every single night—I’ve only missed maybe three dinners in six years, and most of those were cleared ahead of time. I went from completely without purpose to un-finished, and doing it all alongside the people I love most is what fills me with joy every day.
