Inspiring Conversations with Shelsey Sybrandts of Beetle Barber

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelsey Sybrandts.

Hi Shelsey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
A gal with a love of art found herself following a career in cosmetology then watched it grow into a love for men’s grooming. Adding a barbering license and working over half of a decade in a barbershop, she decided it was time to own her own spot for all her clients and the new ones to come and experience something different.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning your own business requires a lot of know how and if you don’t know how you find people that do. You ask a lot of questions. I’m fortunate to have family and clients who have walked the self employed path who have helped me find what works and what doesn’t. I like change and challenges. Everyday has its own hurdles business and personal but they are necessary for growth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I own a one chair barber suite business in Loveland Colorado. I specialize in men’s haircuts and shaves when I’m not buzzing around in my 69’ Volkswagen Beetle. I love that I get to provide a comfortable inviting space for my fellas where they can leave feeling like the best version of themselves. I’m proud of my method of cutting and finding what’s going to need doing to create a cut tailored to my guest. I have new services coming next year aside from my haircuts, beard trims and shaves.
