We recently had the chance to connect with Casey Jo Klein and have shared our conversation below.
Casey Jo, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is coffee FIRST! Seriously though as a new business owner & still being full time behind the salon chair I am finding balance! I will be a new mom soon, so that will all be new territory for myself and my family.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hiya! My name is Casey Jo Klein and I am the owner & stylist at Village Salon in Denver, CO. What makes my job so interesting is that I get to connect with people daily. Truly connect, listen to them, make them feel heard, seen, & beautiful. Our salon promotes local artists around Denver area, & loves working with the community of small business owners.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband Lloyd.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To always give yourself grace, remember it’s her first time doing life too.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, absolutely! I think that’s where I connect most with people, and super relatable. My clients, stylists, etc. get me as myself, in this day of age with social media it is super important for me to stay honest & relatable not only to myself but to them too.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
100%. I always say (corny I know) but it’s about the journey not the destination. We are quick to go quick. I try my best to remind myself to slow down, take it in, this is why I work so hard.
