We recently had the chance to connect with Jerad Larkin and have shared our conversation below.
Jerad, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire me. I bring a mix of work ethic, creativity, and genuine care for the people I work with. I don’t just focus on the task at hand, I focus on relationships and long-term value. I’m always looking for ways to innovate, whether that’s leveraging technology to save time or creating events and content that help real estate professionals grow. At the same time, I know I’m not perfect, and that mindset keeps me humble and open to feedback. I’d hire me because I show up, follow through, and make sure the people around me succeed too.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jerad Larkin, better known as the Mile High Title Guy. I work with Chicago Title Colorado as an account executive, and my passion is helping real estate professionals grow their businesses. My brand is built around education, marketing support, and community. I host workshops, panels, and networking events that give agents tools they can put into action immediately, whether it’s mastering Google Business Profiles, learning AI strategies, or creating better video content.
What makes my approach unique is that I don’t just talk about theory. I share real-world strategies that I use myself, backed by data and experience in the Denver market. My goal is to be a trusted partner who saves agents time, helps them stand out, and ultimately closes more deals. Right now, I’m focused on expanding resources at MileHighTitleGuy.com where agents can find marketing tools, educational content, and exclusive event opportunities to stay ahead in today’s fast-changing real estate landscape.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is the one with my wife, Alexa. She has been a constant source of support, perspective, and encouragement. Alexa pushes me to grow, not just in my career, but as a husband, father, and friend. She reminds me to keep balance in my life and to focus on what really matters. Her belief in me has given me the confidence to take risks, lead with authenticity, and build a career that aligns with my values.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up. About 18 to 24 months into my career in title insurance sales, I felt completely drained and honestly thought I was just waiting to get fired. I was putting in long days and nights doing everything I could think of to build momentum: going to networking events, popping into real estate offices, cold calling, teaching classes, and meeting with just about anyone willing to sit down with me. It felt like I was giving everything but not getting much traction.
Around the two-year mark, something shifted. The seeds I had planted started to grow, and business slowly began to trickle in. It wasn’t overnight success by any means, but those small wins gave me the motivation to keep pushing. Looking back, that period taught me the value of persistence and consistency. The grind of those early days built the foundation for the business and relationships I have today, and I’m grateful I didn’t give up when it would have been easy to.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies my industry tells itself is that title insurance sales is all about transactions. Too often people believe success comes from just taking orders and moving files through the system. The truth is, our business is about relationships and long-term trust. If we treat every deal as a one-and-done, we’re missing the opportunity to truly serve real estate professionals and help them grow.
Another lie is that agents only care about price. What I’ve found is that most agents value partnership, education, and support far more than shaving a few dollars off a fee. When you can actually help them build their business, they remember that. It’s not just about closing a file, it’s about creating opportunities and being a resource that makes their lives easier.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my customers would miss the way I go above and beyond to help them grow. I’m not just someone who helps close deals, I’m someone who brings them new ideas, tools, and opportunities to level up their business. Whether it’s hosting a class, building out a marketing strategy, or just being a sounding board when they need advice, I always try to be a resource who makes their lives easier.
They’d also miss the energy and community I try to create. I love connecting people, hosting events, and building spaces where agents, lenders, and industry pros can learn and collaborate together. My goal has always been to add value beyond the transaction, and that’s what I believe would leave the biggest gap if I wasn’t here.
