Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Mike Crofts of Right in Denver

We recently had the chance to connect with Mike Crofts and have shared our conversation below.

Mike, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My day usually starts with my puppy who likes to wake up around 4:30am every morning. Usually consists of taking him out on walks, playing with him without waking up my wife too much, and generally setting myself up for the day of work and other things needing to be done.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Mike Crofts, owner and operator of Denver Auto Pro Detailing, a 5 star mobile service that travels pretty much anywhere in Colorado!
Been grinding since 2022 and have no plan on stopping any time soon.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
So life tends to be quite the rollercoaster of emotions, especially the more aware you become of yourself and your surroundings. Earlier this year I’ve had a heartbreaking incident happen where unfortunately I lost a close family member. Dealing with this type of grief has definitely been challenging but has somewhat opened my eyes to new perspectives and I began really questioning my own intentions and where I’m going in life.
The best piece of advice I’ve gotten from a friend who knows of my situation told me “this isn’t a new experience, this is just the new normal”
And seeing it from that prospective has definitely helped me cope with my grief.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have definitely been times of burnout and general exhibitions that come and go. But as far as giving up that hasn’t really been on my mind for a few years now. The way I see it now is “why give up?” When I’ve come this far already. It’s kind of hardwired into my brain where I just don’t think about stopping or giving up, rather than find what more I could do to better myself.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’ve learned the older I get the less time I have to live the life I want to at the end of the day. I don’t see a reason to put on a show for anyone in public. Definitely suggest to everyone to live authentically to you.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Start breaking as many bad habits as possible and start creating healthier habits.
