We’re looking forward to introducing you to Robert Wolfe. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Robert, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
One thing that surprised me is how much people value the personal experience, not just the end result. Of course they care about how the color turns out, but what they talk about later is whether we respected their home, whether we communicated clearly, and whether they felt taken care of. That shaped how I run RW Professional Painting—it’s not only about the finished wall, it’s about building trust.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Robert Wolfe, and I’m the founder of RW Professional Painting LLC. I started painting in 2008 while I was still in school, and by 2012 I had officially opened the company. From those early days on a painter’s hourly wage, RW has grown into a BBB A+ Accredited business that has completed over a thousand projects across the Denver metro area.
What makes RW unique is that we’ve grown while keeping the personal touch. I still handle every estimate myself, because I want people to meet the person behind the company. It keeps me connected to the work and to the people we serve.
We’re also known for things like our No Surprise Guarantee and our Lifetime Limited Warranty, because I’ve always wanted to run a business where people feel secure in their investment. To me, painting is about more than color on a wall—it’s about serving people with integrity and helping them feel proud of their home or business.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Early on, I had to learn to let go of micromanaging every detail and instead focus on building a crew I could trust. It wasn’t easy, but releasing that need for control showed me that a job can be done with the same level of quality—even if it’s done differently than how I would have approached it myself. That shift has allowed both me and the team to grow.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Struggle taught me to be grateful and persistent. When things were hard, I learned to pay attention to the opportunities I did have and to keep leaning forward. Success feels good, but the difficult seasons taught me perspective and resilience in a way that nothing else could.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Respect and Equality are values I will always stand behind, because the people on our team deserve dignity no matter the circumstance. Our brand exists to serve the people who make it possible, and I want every person here to know they matter more than passing frustrations. When our company is known for fairness and respect, it becomes a place our team can be proud to belong to.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When have you had to bet the company?
We bet on the company every year. Pushing ourselves to the limit has become part of our DNA, because I believe there’s no such thing as staying still—you’re either growing or you’re getting smaller. That belief has shaped every leap we’ve taken, from the earliest days of starting out to the challenges we continue to embrace today.
