Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Sabrina Carmo of Denver

We recently had the chance to connect with Sabrina Carmo and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabrina, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Painting. I love painting. Unfortunately I haven’t had much free time to work on something new, but when I paint, is like nothing else matters.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Sabrina Carmo, 32 years old, from São Paulo, Brazil. I am a portrait photographer, who is always open to go a little bit further to the ideal spot for your dream photoshoot. I love photographing couples for any occasion, like a date, a proposal, a celebration and specially weddings. On the other hand, I can be very good with kids, so family photoshoot and new born is growing on me. Maybe because I was a nanny for a long time, I can understand what those kiddos need to let it out their most genuine laugher.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A hopeless romantic. Even though life showed me fairy tales doesn’t exist, I still find that kind of love and keep it forever in a photography.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of what other people think about me. I tried to be invisible for so long, cause, in my mind, if people didn’t know I exist, they wouldn’t judge me. But they will. Specially the ones who don’t know you. You can’t control that. But you can control how you feel about it.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Jesus of Nazareth.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When I am cuddling my cats, hearing their purrs, while Thomas(my cat) is drooling all over me. Yes, he drools when I scratch behind his ears.
