Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna & Carly

Hi Anna & Carly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our story begins with a shared passion for reshaping the ceramics world into something more inclusive and approachable. Anna’s journey started in her mother’s basement in a small town in Ohio, where she taught herself the craft of ceramics. Over time, she transformed her passion into a successful solopreneur business before moving to Denver, where she gained invaluable experience managing a ceramics studio. Carly, a Denver native rooted in the local arts community, brought her background in Art History from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and years of managing creative spaces to the mix.

We met while working together at a local ceramics studio and discovered a mutual frustration with the pretension and exclusivity often found in the pottery world. We envisioned something different—a space where pottery isn’t about competition or perfection but about connection, creativity, and growth.

Our mission is to make pottery accessible to everyone, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, and to build a community where collaboration and inclusivity thrive. We believe pottery is a shared human experience that belongs to no one but can bring everyone together. At Kinship, we’ve created a space where people can step into the world of pottery, feel welcome, and discover the joy of this timeless craft.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacle was finding the right space for pottery. Take out the need for specialized power supply and ventilation, we wanted to find a space that was inspiring to potters and encouraged collaboration.
