Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Davis.
Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have spent a lot of my life trying to understand who I am and where I fit. Always aware that our time on this planet is a special gift, I wanted to do something amazing with my life. The thing is, there are no road maps for that, so I let my passions lead the way.
I was always been a maker of things. Long before I had a business or a title for what I was doing, I was drawn to making things from my own perspective. Creating became a language for experiences I didn’t always know how to articulate, and over time that instinct led me into photography, fine art, street art, ceramics, brand design, interiors, filmmaking, and creative direction. A lot of my career has been unconventional. My work has taken me into rooms with artists, actors, musicians, brands, and individuals, while still developing my own voice and body of work. I love building things from the ground up. I’ve learned by doing, by experimenting, and sometimes by just figuring it out the hard way.
I have personally stopped trying to find the one niche thing I’m “supposed” to be and started embracing the fact that I’m not one thing. I’ve learned that a meaningful life is about being yourself, in all the ways only you can be. All of these different disciplines are really just unique ways of exploring the same thing: making something meaningful from what I have been given.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. I don’t think any meaningful life really is.
One of the biggest struggles for me has been learning to trust my own path when it did not look like anyone else’s. There were plenty of times when I questioned whether I was doing things the right way, and I had to learn how to keep dreaming even when I didn’t know exactly where I was going.
There have been failures, financial uncertainty, projects that didn’t work, and moments where I had to start over. Looking back, I wouldn’t call the road smooth, but the difficult parts forced me to become more honest about who I am, what matters to me, and what kind of life I actually want to build.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I offer creative direction through multiple outlets. I work as a photographer, interior designer, brand developer, and filmmaker, but the common thread is always the same: I’m interested in creating something beautiful. That might mean photographing a person, developing a visual identity for a brand, designing an entire home, creating a piece of art, or building a t.v project from the ground up. I enjoy the process of taking something that exists as an idea and making it a tangible thing. What I’m most proud of is probably the body of work I’ve built without having to fit myself into one category. I’ve been able to follow my curiosity wherever it leads and develop a practice that is genuinely my own.
What makes me uniques is that I’m not attached to one medium or one way of working. I can move between photography, art, design, interiors, and film without losing the underlying vision. That gives me a different way of approaching a project. I am not just asking, “How should this look?” I’m asking, “What is this trying to say, and what is the best way to make people feel it?”
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with me directly as a photographer, interior designer, creative directer, or on film projects. I also create fine art and limited-edition prints, so there are ways to support my work simply by collecting something I’ve made.
