Today we’d like to introduce you to Brit James.
Hi Brit, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up on movie sets—my dad was a stuntman turned 2nd unit director, and he gave me my first film camera when I was about 14. I never looked back. While I dabbled in stunts (adrenaline definitely runs in my veins), I fell in love with cinematography and photography at a young age.
I started my first business at 25—a wedding photo and video company that grew successfully across Southern and Northern California. But eventually, I hit burnout and craved a deeper creative challenge. So I taught myself design and dove into product cinematography. That led to being hired as Creative Director for Orlove Entertainment, and I began freelancing as a CD for various brands while continuing to shoot. I definitely follow in my dad’s footsteps with directing campaigns—it has always just come naturally to me. I love to lead and mentor others.
This year, I launched Pink Ember MKTG & Co., a marketing agency with a team of four. I was able to lean on previous clients, which gave us momentum from the start. I also co-own a photo studio where we mentor young creatives, helping them get started in the industry. I’m co-founding another startup in the tech space that I can’t talk about yet, and I coach entrepreneurs who have been through difficult seasons.
I have to give a huge shoutout to Taylor Mayfield and Hayden Woods—without them, I would be doing this solo. God really showed me that growing business alongside my brothers and sisters in Him was the way forward. Every business we’re building is Kingdom-driven, with a Kingdom mindset. Jesus is at the center of it all.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. A few years ago, my life flipped upside down when I found myself in a very abusive relationship. I got in over my head by joining his dream in a completely different industry—logistics. But even in the chaos at home, I realized something important: I was really good at business.
Getting out wasn’t easy. I had to file bankruptcy to get away from him—he wouldn’t let me go. It was one of the darkest seasons of my life. But looking back now, I can see how God used even that. Without Him, I probably wouldn’t be here today. That experience shaped how I approach business now and why I’m so passionate about coaching entrepreneurs, especially those who have been through abuse. I want them to know there’s hope and a path forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We actually just started specializing in AI-driven cinematography alongside social media management as our main focus. We create truly scroll-stopping content by taking a brand or product and giving it a surreal flair. The beauty of AI is you can create anything your mind can think of—without insane production costs and setups.
What sets us apart is how we blend traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Personally, I do a lot of design work for clients and I’m especially skilled at SEO. Taylor is brilliant at growth strategy for social media. And all three of us are exceptional behind the camera. We blend cinematography, photography, and branding with AI capabilities to create content that truly stands out.
I also brought on another friend, Kate Eberlie, who is our sales director and an absolute genius at what she does. Honestly, I’m most proud of the team we’ve built and the innovative work we’re creating together. It’s a season of deep gratitude.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We’re launching our Instagram in November 2025, so you can see the work we do there and get a behind-the-scenes look at our process.
We’ll also be launching a course early in the new year where you can learn these innovative AI-driven cinematography techniques—whether you’re creating content for your own brand or for clients.
The best way to connect with us right now is to follow us on Instagram and join us on this journey. We’re excited to share what we’re building and to help other creatives push the boundaries of what’s possible.
