Today we’d like to introduce you to Coast to Ghost. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Luke (drummer), Travis (bassist), and Oren (vocalist) would play rooftop parties together where we would get the whole apartment complex to come up and jam out with us and tag in on the instruments. Eric joined the band after moving into the same building as Oren and Travis and added keys and guitar to the group. We played a few shows as a four-piece band until we met our guitarist Gerry at an STS9 show at the Levitt Pavillion.
Since then, the band has had a lot of momentum, recording an EP for Spotify and playing some great stages such as Cervantes Other Side, Larimer Lounge, Globe Hall, and Your Moms House. We are excited for our Thanksgiving weekend headlining show over at Lost Lake Lounge on November 26th!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, as it took a while to find the right combination of musicians. But ever since we assembled our current lineup we’ve been like the damn Avengers (or the A-team).
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are the band Coast to Ghost, and we all play instruments at the same time. We specialize in fusing funk, Hip Hop, and Jamtronica styles, blending freestyle raps into the jams. In our Post-2-Ghost segment, we challenge the crowd to join the experience and provide words for us to incorporate into the freestyles.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
You gotta get buck wild up on that stage. The real philosophy behind our music is to keep that party going; if the crowd ain’t jump in, your music ain’t thumping!
