Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter White.

Hunter, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Hunter and my business partner’s name is Shelby and together we are Colorado Gems. We are both stay-at-home moms and have been friends for a while now. After attending multiple permanent jewelry parties and falling in love with the simplicity yet flashiness of the jewelry we knew we wanted to dive deeper into this industry. Our weekly walks at the park and casual conversation soon turned into exciting business conversations. We started to craft our brand and came up with Colorado Gems. While Shelby has a great eye for designs and materials, she can focus on the creative side of things. While Hunter, with her business background can manage the financial and logistic aspects. Coming together to make the perfect team!

We hosted a small jewelry party for our friends and family at the end of September to gauge interest, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Encouraged by the positive feedback we decided to take a leap and launch our business. As our business has grown more than we have ever thought, we are partnering with local businesses doing pop-up shops, private parties, and much more. Our customer base is growing more than we ever thought and our calendar is so full that we are having to split up on days to attend multiple events at once.

We are so thankful our dreams have turned into a reality.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been semi-smooth. Of course, there are learning curves with anything new. We have grown very fast and with that comes bumps. While we strive to have perfect jewelry for customers, we are human and know that mistakes can be made.

We are learning with each event and each customer that sits down in our chairs. Something we have had to practice is no matter how busy or slow we are that we must go at the same speed with each customer to ensure quality is good and we are still developing great relationships along the way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are both stay-at-home moms and have 17-month-old babies. We both ended up staying home after they were born because of different circumstances.

As mentioned before we come from different backgrounds but it makes our business run smoothly because of it. We are both huge on family, we love to be outside enjoying the Colorado Weather and love animals.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
We both put a lot of our time into going to Church and knowing that God has been a huge part of our success.

This business was something that we both needed to continue to stay home comfortably while raising young babies. We knew that if it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t be where we are today.
