Today we’re excited to be connecting with Jason Farr again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Jason, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
My name is Jason Farr and I’m the owner of Big Sky Supply in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver. We started our business in 2016 and opened our retail space in February of 2018. We are a 500 square foot vintage clothing shop on the back patio of Crema Coffeehouse. We are a curated vintage clothing store focused on 50’s through 90’s vintage. What makes us different than a lot of shops is we don’t try to be for everyone. We focus on what we’re into and attempt to be the best we can be at it. It should kinda be our motto at this point “when everyone goes right we go left”
Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
The last couple years have been pretty hard on us. Sales have decreased for us pretty dramatically. It definitely stressed us out initially but we transitioned pretty quick. The down time has given us an opportunity to refocus, which is great. It’s also given me a chance to check my ego a bit and tune into the things I love about this industry. It became fun again like in the beginning and less of a job. I’m thankful and very grateful for that.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
I think the main couple things I’d be proud of:
1. I didn’t settle. I jumped head first into whatever I was into. I allowed myself to fail until I figured out how to do things right.
2. My perseverance and my work ethic. Not just when things are good but especially when things are bad
3. Being intentional how I interact with the world. Always trying to do the right thing even when it doesn’t benefit me.
