Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Stillwell.
Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My golf journey started in a way that surprises a lot of people, I wasn’t a golfer at all. My husband had been playing for years, and honestly, I first fell in love with the golf oufits before I fell in love with the game.
Once I got out on the course, I quickly realized how much fun golf could be. I was fortunate to have a patient teacher in my husband. He taught me everything from course etiquette and which club to use to where to stand, when to talk, and all the unwritten rules that can feel intimidating to someone who’s just starting.
As we played together, we were often paired with other beginners. Time after time, we’d see the same thing: people were nervous. They weren’t worried about hitting the perfect shot, they were worried about making a mistake, slowing down play, or not knowing the etiquette. It was clear that the fear of “doing something wrong” was keeping a lot of people from fully enjoying the game.
That’s when the idea for Golf Haus was born.
We wanted to create a place where anyone, whether they’ve never picked up a club or they’ve been playing for decades could feel comfortable. A place where beginners can learn without pressure, ask questions without feeling embarrassed, and build confidence before stepping onto a golf course. At the same time, experienced golfers can still enjoy competitive play, practice, and improve their game.
Golf Haus is about removing the intimidation while keeping everything people love about golf. We believe golf should be welcoming, social, and fun. Whether you’re there to work on your swing, play with friends, enjoy great food and drinks, or simply experience the game for the first time, everyone belongs at Golf Haus.
Our mission has always been simple: bring golf—and the joy that comes with it—to everyone.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think entrepreneurship is ever a smooth road, and opening Golf Haus has definitely been a journey of constant learning. Every single day brings a new challenge and a new lesson.
Before opening Golf Haus, I spent 20 years as a paralegal and later worked in the mortgage industry. I had no experience owning a bar, running a restaurant, or operating a golf entertainment venue. There wasn’t a playbook for what we were creating.
What I did have was a passion for creating great experiences. I knew what I enjoyed as a customer, I genuinely love connecting with people, and I wasn’t afraid to ask questions or learn as I went.
There have been plenty of challenges, from learning inventory management and staffing to understanding the food and beverage business, marketing, and everything that comes with owning a small business. Some days you’re celebrating a great event, and the next day you’re figuring out how to fix equipment or solve an unexpected problem. It comes with the territory.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you don’t have to know everything on day one. You just have to be willing to keep learning, adapt, and surround yourself with good people. Every obstacle has made us better, and every challenge has helped shape Golf Haus into the welcoming place we envisioned from the beginning.
Owning Golf Haus has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it’s also been the most rewarding. Seeing someone walk through our doors nervous about golf and leave smiling, excited, and wanting to come back makes every challenge worth it.

What I do is create experiences that make people fall in love with golf.
As the co-owner of Golf Haus, my focus isn’t just on running the business it’s about creating a place where everyone feels like they belong. Whether someone is picking up a club for the very first time or they’re a scratch golfer looking to sharpen their game, we want them to walk through our doors feeling welcome.
We specialize in making golf approachable, social, and fun. With state-of-the-art simulators, great food and drinks, leagues, tournaments, lessons, and community events, Golf Haus has become a place where people gather, not just to play golf, but to connect with friends, celebrate milestones, and try something new.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built. Some of our members walked in saying, “I’ve never played golf before,” and now they’re playing in leagues, taking lessons, and even venturing onto real golf courses with confidence. Watching that transformation is incredibly rewarding.
I think what truly sets Golf Haus apart is that our mission comes from personal experience. I remember exactly what it felt like to be a beginner, excited to learn but intimidated by the traditions and etiquette of the game. Because I’ve been there, we’ve intentionally designed Golf Haus to remove those barriers without taking away what makes golf special.
Our goal has never been to replace the golf course. It’s to prepare people for it, build confidence, and show that golf can be welcoming, inclusive, and a whole lot of fun. If we can help someone discover a lifelong love of the game while creating meaningful connections along the way, then we’ve done exactly what we set out to do.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about the City of Centennial is the incredible sense of community. From the moment we opened Golf Haus, the city, local businesses, and residents have embraced us in ways I never expected. We’ve built friendships with people I probably never would have met otherwise. I say all the time, “I can’t believe I’ve lived here for so long and never met any of these amazing people before.” Owning a local business has connected us to the community in such a meaningful way, and that’s been one of the greatest rewards.
If I had to choose something I’d like to see more of, it would simply be even more opportunities for people to discover and support local businesses. There are so many incredible small businesses in Centennial, and I think sometimes people don’t realize the unique experiences that are right in their own backyard. I’d love to see even more collaboration and awareness because supporting local businesses really strengthens the entire community.
