Life & Work with Joe Martucci and Brad Rickle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Martucci and Brad Rickle.

Joe Martucci and Brad Rickle n/a

Joe and Brad, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
True to The Sound is a visionary movement of underground music culture. A collaborative community of underground bass music producers and DJs who share a common goal and love for music! True To The Sound was born in 2020. It started as an idea and we had no clue where it would go. We wanted the movement to be organic and grassroots, and genuinely just wanted to build a positive community in a culture that is so saturated with toxicity. We love hip-hop and halftime bass music and realized there was a lack of the spotlight on these musical genres, especially in Denver.

Spending countless hours diving through wormholes of underground artists, who in some cases barely have a following, we saw a need to shine the light on those that we’ve come across who simply just want to feel like they are a part of something awesome. Building community comes first and foremost, the music is just the cherry on top. We’ve been building a network of friends and family near and far that support and inspire one another daily, we’ve created some awesome memories at our live events, and we are stoked to keep on building with the people who support our vision. Last year, we made a 2-part compilation featuring 20+ artists from around the globe and donated all of the proceeds to the Boredom Fighters, which is a nonprofit that helps provide access to music education and tools for underprivileged youth.

This year, we have our 2nd official compilation dropping on Nov. 3 on all major streaming platforms with a stacked roster of established and upcoming artists from across the nation. We have multiple events planned throughout this next year, and just so much more that we can’t wait to announce. We couldn’t do it all without the support of our artists, fans, and followers, and we are so excited to keep growing and dreaming big!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, it’s been smooth, we are just going with the flow and taking it all in as things grow naturally.

We have been blessed for the people in our corner and for all of the followers who support and truly see our vision.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Aside from our involvement as DJs/Producers (Brad – BRiXX and Joe – ToOCh) in the local bass music scene here in Denver, and founders of True to The Sound, both of us have careers in construction.

Brad is a Project Manager for a Fiberoptic Drilling Company and Joe is a Project Designer for an Exterior Remodeling Firm. We both get to give back to our communities and are proud of the impact we make in our daily lives.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
What matters most to us is building community, simply being a good person, and spreading love in the world because the world needs it…we all do…

There’s too much hate and suffering in the world, and we all deserve to have love in our lives.
