Today we’d like to introduce you to Jupiter Nordstrom.

Hi Jupiter, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been coloring my own hair since my scene/emo days circa 2009. I remember being so inspired by all of the popular scene queens back in the day that it’s something that sparked my passion for hair art. Now 15 or so years later I make a living making hair art. I experimented with different cuts and colors throughout my teenage years and eventually made my way to beauty school.

I had the opportunity to attend beauty school while still in high school so when I got my diploma I also got my hair license. I continued my education and I got my cosmetology license. I have been doing hair professionally for 12 years now. I love every second of it. I own my own business and I have my own private suite salon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It honestly has been a really fun road. There have definitely been bumps in the road. Before I was in the salon full time I was actually a traveling hair and makeup artist pre-covid. It was really cool and fun! But when Covid hit I found myself wanting to go back into a salon to focus on color and cuts. So after the quarantine was up I decided to go back into a salon. That was the best decision I could have made for myself.

I started taking unconventional hair colors and cuts very seriously and focused on perfecting my craft (I still do). I pretty quickly gained a solid clientele. Last year I finally opened up my own suite after being in a few different salons. I just wanted to have a private suite where I could express myself and have a private space where my clients feel comfortable being themselves.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a hairstylist that specializes in rainbow hair. I am known for my rainbow transformations and my haircuts. I do any and every color of the rainbow including rainbow prisms/unconventional hair placements/patterns. I am proud that I have such a rad clientele to do art on. It’s hella fun and I am grateful.

I think what sets me apart from the rest is I’m in a private suite that is decorated to brighten your day. I make sure to create a piece of art on your hair that is completely customized to fit you. I also am big on self-care so I make sure to give a nice scalp massage while I am shampooing you.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Creating art matters most to me. I love what I do. I love that I create art for a living but the canvas is hair and the paint is hair color. I aim to provide a high-quality service and a fun time. I want to give a one-of-a-kind positive experience while creating the main character’s hair.
