Life & Work with Laura Campanella of Loveland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Campanella.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Brothers Grimm Seeds, was founded by my husband in 1996 and is known as one of the most legendary breeders in the cannabis industry, creating strains such as Cinderella 99, the Apollo lines, Rosetta Stone, etc.. We were inducted into the High Times Hall of Fame in 2016 as well as Rosetta Stone was voted top 10 in the world by High Times, 2015, 2016. During prohibition my husband shut down the company and went to Belgium for a period of time until we reopened in 2016. Myself, I was the founder, CEO and Editor and Chief of Cannabis Oklahoma Magazine, from 2018-2021 before selling and becoming the CEO of Brothers Grimm Seeds in 2025. This last year, we grew tremendously, partnering with several celebrities, ICE T, Montel Williams and The Trailer Park Boys for creating unique seed lines. This year will be a record year for Brothers Grimm in growth. Currently we are facing concern with the recent appropriations bill that Trump approved, signing into it, the potential hemp ban scheduled for November 13, 2026. We are actively working with lobbyists and political attorneys with a group of industry leaders for reversal of this decision. That is our story in a nutshell.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve faced prohibition, state and federal and banking regulatory issues, which we have surpassed until the current issue, of the pending hemp ban

We are known for our high-quality proven genetics and are world renowned. I am a musician, playing guitar, bass, piano and singer. I am also an artist/painter/poet.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
It is beautiful. Least Traffic.
