Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Klassen.

Hi Laura, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi!

I am a wife, mother and Photographer. I started my business Laura Rachelle Photography when I moved here from Canada 9 years ago and haven’t looked back. Photography has always been a love of mine- growing up I couldn’t put down the film camera and it’s hooked me ever since! Now, I shoot with digital but always strive to have that film inspired look. I am inspired by the old, the light and beauty in all the little things. The collaboration & collision between love, people and nature is what makes me pursue photography.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would say I have had a smooth road but I also think a part of that is perspective. I think at the beginning of a photography career, it’s the ability to see when you don’t feel completely satisfied with something and are able to learn and grow from it. Some struggles would be the inevitable like horrible weather on a Wedding day and navigating quickly on your feet.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I think what sets me a part is that I truly value my connection with “clients” so that my photos feel honest to who they are. It’s an artful expression of those human beings or nature. I love working with people in all stages and don’t specialize so that I can be a part of their engagement, Wedding, Maternity, Family photos etc!
