Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Scot Ernst.
Hi Lindsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
The LSE Studio was created almost 10 years ago upon graduating with a BFA from MSU Denver. I began taking on clients who desired custom jewelry and as word got around, I began to grow. Making custom work has become my bread and butter and it’s also where my love lies. I create bespoke, one-of-a-kind jewelry for lovers of wearable art.
From wedding rings to bolo ties to cuff links and sculptural pendants, Everything I make is one of a kind and hand fabricated with ethically sourced precious metals and gemstones with my priority being in North American mined gemstones such as sapphires, diamonds, sunstone, and turquoise.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working as an independent artist always has its ups and downs. While business has grown steadily throughout the last 10 years, I still find myself wondering where we will go next and if it will sustain. I believe if you continue working hard and striving forward, it always works out.
So far, this mindset has done well for me and I can say we are a successful independent jewelry studio with many return clients that continues to grow every year.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Lindsey Scot Ernst is known for sculptural, one-of-a-kind pendants, bolo ties, and rings. We love creating large pieces that give us room for a lot of detail. Recently, we have begun to put that same detail into smaller, everyday pieces.
This has made our work more wearable for the everyday jewelry lover. We specialize in custom jewelry, working one-on-one with clients to make their visions come to life. This is a huge passion of ours. It means the world when someone comes to us with an idea and we can collaborate on the final product.
We are proud to have the trust of our clients and the opportunity to create for them. We currently create only by hand. Sawing and soldering each layer of metal together by hand sets us apart from the rest. While there are so many ways to create in metal, we love the process of working directly with the metal to manipulate and form a wearable piece of art.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Creating is our biggest joy. Whether that be on our collections throughout the year- which can be found at Lindseyscot.com – or the custom work that we create for clients, having the opportunity to create for a living is where our gratitude lies.
Bespoke bridal wear has become a favorite custom of ours within the last few years. Being able to be a part of a couple’s big day is like being trusted with the greatest gift ever given, love.
