Life & Work with Mary Schmidt of Lakewood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Schmidt.

Hi Mary, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I had to leave the medical profession due to disability, I started to write books. I thought one book was all I would do. However, that changed fast and now I’m on book 63. My career is far from over.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Hiccups here and there and two books stolen from me, but I learned, and I have a copyright from Washington, DC, for each book now. I adjusted to learning the landscape of ever chaning social media platforms, and I work on creative and meaningful posts.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My creativity encompasses several areas.

Through the M. Schmidt Productions umbrella, I have an online art gallery with traditional and not so traditional art works. I love to paint with oils and photobraphy.

I’m a writer of 62 books in many genres including memoir, children’s picture books, romance, suspense, and poetry. My books have won numerous awards.

I also animate images or more than one image with other images as well as digital design work which I’ve done sonce 1995.

My works are unique in every way.

What’s next?
I want to finish my epic book 63, then write a screenplay to go with it.
