Life & Work with MeMe Black

Today we’d like to introduce you to MeMe Black.

MeMe Black

Hi MeMe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, I started seeing spirits and entities ever since I was a little girl, at the age of 5. My mother wasn’t too thrilled about it; however, I couldn’t help it as they appeared to look like us. As I grew older, my fascination with the paranormal only continued to develop. I became bolder and more adventurous, always eager to explore abandoned new locations, buildings, tunnels, etc. I would often lead the way for my cousins, showing no fear as I entered these places, and then watching the fear on their faces is priceless!

The paranormal world continues to grow, I began to study and research the subject in more depth. My husband started me with the basic equipment, (i.e., Cameras, voice recorders, and electromagnetic field detectors). Now, as an adult, I used my knowledge and experience to investigate locations that are believed to be haunted. Myself and team used the equipment to gather evidence of paranormal activity, such as electronic voice phenomena and movements. Through my work, I hope to shed light on the mysteries of the paranormal and help others understand and appreciate the supernatural world around us.

Before any investigation starts, I would first interview the client, to determine whether further investigation is necessary. If the client is present during the investigation, it may hinder my ability to communicate with the entities. Afterward, I and my team would bring in what was needed for that particular night. My equipment includes the Spirit Box, an EMF meter, a Laser grid, an EVP recorder, and my camera. These are the basic tools that come along an investigation with. At times my husband would accompany me in “clearing” abandoned houses before I went in.

One of my favorite places is Canon City, Colorado, The Abby Monastery, which I will be at again from August 11th through 13th 2023. The monastery is vast, with dark basements and tunnels, making it an excellent location for paranormal activity. My upcoming events for the summer of 2024 include the return of The St. Nicholas Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado. My investigative methods are what sets me apart from the others in her field. She can communicate with entities and spirits, making her investigations more effective.

My research is sometimes extensive, and I am always looking for something new and ways to improve my methods. My husband, Vincent ‘Eazy Brezzy, of Eazy Funks Sounds Studio, he’s my biggest supporter and fan. He’s always telling me, “Everybody loves the Meme”. My social media accounts are where you can find “the Meme” and they’re always updated with my latest adventures. Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, as well as my website, Meme’s Haunting Paranormal.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are some setbacks, such as getting started. The equipment is the most expensive part of it all. Then, sometimes there is no activity whatsoever, it’s a hit or miss in investigations, and it sometimes can be boring.

Other than that, I don’t have any setbacks. Now my struggles are real!! My husband is not an investigator and he’s also a very scary person in the dark, so that’s my only struggle is my husband. LOL.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a paranormal Investigator, that is my profession. Clients get in touch with me through my many platforms, some as far as Virginia wanted me to do an investigation on a house they recently purchased.

I just had a client calling me from California about the behavior of her sister here in Greeley, CO.! Not more to say, I am a paranormal investigator.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
NO FEAR of entering into places of darkness.
