Life & Work with Mirri of Aurora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mirri

Hi Mirri, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making music when i was eleven years old, it initially started as a way to express my emotions in secret but it became an obsession of mine quickly. From researching artist like Brian Eno to Wu Tang Clan to making secret sound cloud records and youtube videos. I started recording music in a studio in 2015 while in college i started performing around campus and the surrounding areas. In 2017 i moved to LA to explore and expand my network, it transformed me as an artist and a person. I met some artist that helped me change and better my style of music. In 2021 i moved to Aurora, Colorado because my son was being born that May i started recording myself in my bedroom and created 4 projects with just myself, some beats, and a microphone i was lucky enough to meet some amazing artists along the way Konnen Springtime, Monia Ashibi, Traffic, Deris. YungPeso, Toon Mac and so many more. I can’t wait to show everyone what the future holds.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been an interesting journey to say the least i don’t see it as a bad thing but it has been unpredictable. I’ve been in some crazy business deals, lost some friends, tried so many styles trying to find my sound, and I was homeless for a little bit.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am mostly known and a musician, I started playing instruments in the third grade and started rapping and singing my junior year of high school. But outside of the music i design clothes and a lot of other creative stuff

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
i love the people, food, and the fact there is always something to do. My least favorite thing would be the potholes downtown
