Life & Work with Rhonda Nimerichter of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Nimerichter.

Rhonda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was looking for something fun to finish my working years after being in telecommunications industry for a very long time. My sister (who introduced me to Fairy Hair) suggested I look into doing Fairy Hair services. I immediately reached out to see about getting trained on the east coast my sister was getting hers. A little reluctant because of the investment, I went ahead and took the plunge with the support of family cheering me on. I started Colorado Fairy Hair in 2018. I eventually made Colorado Fairy Hair an LLC and now have an amazing business partner Sarah and we have 5 fairies flying with us and continue to grow! We have big visions for our future and how we want to expand.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was tough at first, trying to introduce Fairy Hair to an audience who had never seen or even heard of it. I struggled a lot with cold calls. I am a first time business owner, pretty shy, and introducing something new that very few Coloradans knew about was out of my comfort zone. I eventually realized that Fairy Hair sells itself though, if you can just get someone to try it!
One of our current subcontractors is a perfect example. She came into a boutique where I was doing a pop up several years ago and I offered her a few free strands so she could try it. She was a repeat customer for years and is now working with us!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hair embellisher. I apply silkened stands to hair using a unique technique that allow them to stay in for a period of time. Our product is unique in that you can wash, cut, color, straighten, curl your hair. We have repeatedly been told that our strands last longer than our competitors. I am proud to say that while my company has grown, I have so many returning/loyal customers. Colorado Fairy Hair was recently mentioned in 5280 magazine and also featured on Good Day Colorado news in Denver this month. We have a growing number following us on social media. I feel like we are accessible all over Denver metro and try to be accommodating to all while offering to serve at events, parties, festivals, reunions, fund raisers, home appointments, etc.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as being able to do what you are passionate about, while bringing joy to others and living a comfortable life.
