Life & Work with Sarah Strausberg of Westminster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Strausberg

Hi sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in four different countries with international parents was a beautifully challenging experience. It allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, transforming what might seem “weird” into “unique” and beautiful, and helped me see individuals for who they truly are. This journey also deepened my understanding of what “home” really means. After searching for a stable place outside myself for many years, I discovered that home and stability reside within me. I can be anywhere in the world and still be at home.
Later i learned via my Ayurvedic and Yoga studies that “home” can also be a story we all hold, an identity that may block us from our ability to grow closer to our being. This identity can be translated into a disease, a trauma or what we know ourselves as from what society has been calling us.

After many years of delving into this subject, and extensive studies regarding this subject, i’ve reached a point as a holistic therapist that allows me to help many people via tools i’ve acquired to remove those layers, and identities and to come closer to their true beautiful being. Their true beautiful selves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Its been a challenging ride..

People like to name things.
As a holistic therapist it may be hard to name me.. i use different tools on different people as every individual has their own unique makeup of self, and every individual needs different tools to help them with their own story. This can be a challenge in regards to marketing. When the product i am selling is Me, and i am many things, finding the right name for people to relate to can be challenging.
It is normally like this until the first session, the clients still don’t always understand but always come back for more…

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As holistic therapist I look at people as a whole. When they come to me i will look at their physical body, their Emotional/mental body and their energetic body. They are all interconnected and when one is out of balance aka “away from its being/self”, it will reflect on the rest.

Ayurveda gave me a-lot of knowledge in the understanding of a persons dis-ease process. This is regarding the Physical, emotional/mental or energetic body.

Given this way of seeing people, i work with many different tools to help a person come back into their “center”, their “being” their “true self” depending on what the client needs in the moment.

I’ll normally begin the session with some initial questions and a pulse reading and depending on every individuals needs i would use different tools to help them.
Some of my tools can be Breathwork, movement, Marma points, asana, massage therapy, guided meditation and if necessary i will recommend herbs or adjunct therapy they can use on their own time. of course I will build them a Diet and lifestyle plan based on their Ayurvedic constitution and the current issues they are dealing with.

What makes me different than other holistic therapist is my story. My past gave me the ability to make others feel seen, comfortable and safe. Everyone has a gift they were born with and I am proud to say my gift is the ability to bring people into a state of calmness so that they can be open enough to heal.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My mentors were my own therapists. Going through many different therapeutic modalities helped me better understand how i want to build my own practice.
Coming across those therapists and building a strong bond with them when i was no longer their client also helped me when i needed some extra support.
