Today we’d like to introduce you to Shalesa Aldrich

Hi Shalesa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
With an extensive sales background and love for networking I began getting rooted in a community of women business owners. Along the way I discovered that I was not meant to work for someone else. I became inspired to start my own business and S’mormet was born. The dream didn’t start out with a mobile s’mores bar or homemade marshmallows but I love that it has turned out that way!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s tough to quit your 9-5 and launch a business. Especially when your dreams are larger than your bank account. But we started small and took one step at a time!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make homemade marshmallows in over a dozen flavors. Along with that I have a mobile gourmet s’mores bar! We do weddings, specials events, pop ups and take orders! In case you’re curious, yes, we ship! I’m known locally as the marshmallow lady, which I love and I can most often be found wearing one of my favorite hats. I am most proud of how far I’ve come. We had kids at a young age and started our lives completely backwards with no direction. To look at where we are now lights me up and encourages me because I know there is so much more to come!!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I def have that lucky girl energy! I believe I’m being blessed. I feel like I’m always in the right place at the right time and opportunities are constantly coming my way. But it also wouldn’t be possible if I wasn’t constantly putting myself out there. I didn’t get where I am by sitting at home alone!
