Life & Work with Shea Householder of Thornton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shea Householder.

Hi Shea , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been sales professional for the past 10+ year and realized I wanted to make a career change to something more fulfilling. Being an avid pickleball player I started looking for opportunities in that industry and came across the Community Impact Coordinator position here at Chicken N Pickle. I knew that with years of sales experience I had the transferable skills to make an impact in the community and thought what better way than through pickleball! I was fortunate enough to land the position and hit the ground running working with various non-profits, school sports groups and our local heroes around the Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster and Broomfield areas. Though I have only been with the company a few months, I feel we have done great things within the community and look forward to continuing to help support local organizations through pickleball and amazing food!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
So far it has been a pretty smooth road. Our local community has been extremely receptive to our new location and have really helped us embody the value that Chicken N Pickle stands behind; Our Hearts Are Local. We love learning about and supporting local organizations that are creating change and doing good for the community. My hope is that we can continue to support those organizations with fundraising and awareness, while providing a fun, inclusive space for events and community gatherings.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the Community Impact Coordinator here at Chicken N Pickle in Thornton. I have the pleasure to work with local heroes (police, fire, EMS, teachers and hospital workers), non-profits, schools, sports teams and anyone else who makes our community truly special. I love setting up events that help raise money and awareness for great causes and making them fun and enjoyable for those that attend. What sets Chicken N Pickle and myself apart is our relentless efforts to be involved in our community and use our space for good; it helps that we have an amazing staff that also embodies philanthropy and enjoys building relationships throughout the community. I am most proud of the fact that I can leave work everyday and feel good about what I am doing and who I am supporting. I have met so many great people that are invested in making the lives of others betters and that is something that I don’t take for granted.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was very independent, outgoing and always getting into something. I spent a lot of time snowboarding competitively, skateboarding, playing tennis, and listening to music. I was involved in community projects, one of my favorite was raising money and getting community approval to build a skatepark in my hometown. I always had an interest in talking with different people and learning about their passions, interests and lives in general.
