Life & Work with Zariah (Viper) Cameron-lovell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zariah (Viper) Cameron-lovell

Hi Zariah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started long before I ever thought of creating a business—I’ve been in the talent industry as a vocalist, model, and actress for almost a decade now, and most of what I know has been self-taught. While I have a degree in cosmetology, affiliate marketing, business, and acting, the real education came from the experiences I gained on the job, learning through trial and error, and building connections with people who believed in me.

What really pushed me to pursue a business was the realization that I could help others find their confidence and creativity, just as I had through modeling. Growing up, I always felt like an outsider—someone who didn’t fit in. But modeling gave me a space to express myself in a way that felt authentic. It helped me discover my passion, build my self-confidence, and embrace my unique style. That became the foundation for everything I’ve done since.

I enjoy being able to teach others how to embrace their individuality and to succeed by doing what they love. My business is focused on helping people in the creative industries—whether it’s modeling, acting, or other forms of expression—find their path to success, by staying true to who they are. It’s all about confidence, authenticity, and creativity.

Honestly, it’s the excitement of the challenge. Whether I’m collaborating with photographers or testing new concepts and poses, I’m constantly pushing my own limits. It’s not just about looking pretty on camera—it’s about creating something that resonates with people. I want my work to make them feel something. Whether it’s curiosity, nostalgia, or even confusion, if I can spark emotion, I’ve done my job.

That’s why I love collaborating with others in the industry. It’s about constantly reinventing ourselves and our art. I always take on projects that push my creativity and make me think outside the box, whether it’s shooting with exotic animals like an albino snake, braving extreme weather for edgy photoshoots, or painting myself head-to-toe in vibrant colors. The possibilities are endless, and I embrace every single one.

Balance is crucial. When I’m not on set or working with clients, I’m at home with my three special needs birds, two cockatiels and a ringneck dove. They keep me grounded. I’ve always had a deep connection with animals, and working with birds in particular has been incredibly rewarding. It’s an aspect of my life that helps me stay calm and centered amidst the hustle of the creative world.

I’m also big on maintaining my health, both physically and mentally. Fitness, eating well, and practicing yoga and meditation are essential for staying grounded in an industry that can often be draining. Self-care is important, and I truly believe that you can’t pour from an empty cup. In this business, taking care of yourself is key to success—both for your physical health and emotional well-being.

What I’ve learned over the years is that you don’t have to change yourself to be successful. You don’t have to diet or do extreme things to fit a mold. If you embrace your uniqueness, that’s when the magic happens. People want to work with you for you, not for the persona you think you need to be.

There’s always something new on the horizon! I’m continuing to push my boundaries, expand my skill set, and work with other creatives who inspire me. I’m never satisfied with just staying in one place—I’m always on the lookout for my next challenge.

I’m also looking to expand my work beyond just modeling and acting, particularly in mentoring and helping others navigate the creative industry. I want to continue sharing the tools and lessons I’ve learned with those coming up in the industry, so they don’t have to reinvent the wheel like I did.

Ultimately, I want to build something sustainable that not only helps me live out my dreams, but helps others do the same. It’s all about fostering a community where creativity thrives, authenticity is celebrated, and we all grow together.

My advice? Embrace your weirdness. Embrace your uniqueness. The moment you stop trying to fit into someone else’s box and start creating your own, that’s when the magic happens. Find what sets your soul on fire, and don’t be afraid to pursue it. And remember, it’s okay to be a little unconventional—those are the things that make you stand out.

Success isn’t a one-size-fits-all path. The key is to stay true to yourself, keep challenging yourself, and never stop learning. The journey is just as important as the destination. So take it one step at a time, and remember that if you stay authentic, you will always find your place.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overcoming Doubt, Rejection, and Self-Doubt: My Journey in the Creative Industry

Every success story comes with its share of struggles, and mine is no exception. Behind the smiles, the photoshoots, and the moments of triumph lies a journey paved with self-doubt, financial difficulties, rejection, and personal sacrifices. It took more than just talent to get here—it took resilience, self-love, and a commitment to keep going, even when it felt like the world was pushing back.

Facing Doubts and Overcoming Financial Struggles

One of the first hurdles I faced was financial. The creative industry, especially in modeling and acting, is not an easy path to walk—especially when you’re self-funding your journey. In the beginning, it felt like I was constantly juggling multiple jobs just to keep the dream alive. There were times when I couldn’t afford professional photoshoots, headshots, or classes, but I learned to be resourceful. I relied on networking and collaborations with photographers, makeup artists, and other creatives who were willing to work with me in exchange for experience. There were nights I wasn’t sure how I was going to make ends meet, but the one thing I never gave up on was my belief in myself and my dreams.

Still, the struggle was real. The money wasn’t flowing in the way I had hoped, and I often questioned whether it was all worth it. But I learned that success in this industry isn’t just about having the right connections or the perfect body. It’s about persistence, adaptability, and the courage to keep moving forward even when the financial rewards don’t immediately follow.

The Battle for Confidence and Embracing My Insecurities

A large part of my journey has been learning how to be confident in an industry that thrives on physical appearance and external validation. At first, I struggled deeply with my insecurities. I didn’t have the “ideal” look that I thought agencies and photographers were searching for. I was too short for runway work, too “different” to fit into a conventional box, and too unsure of myself to truly stand out. But the most significant challenge I faced wasn’t external—it was learning to embrace myself.

The more I learned to love my flaws, the more my confidence grew. I stopped comparing myself to others, stopped worrying about what I wasn’t, and started embracing what made me unique. Through yoga, meditation, and simply allowing myself to be who I am, I began to find peace with my body, my face, and my personality. The key to building real confidence wasn’t about changing myself to fit someone else’s expectations; it was about showing up as my authentic self and allowing that to be enough.

Enduring Rejection and Persistence Despite Setbacks

Perhaps one of the hardest aspects of my journey was learning to deal with rejection, especially early on. I was determined to land my first agency, and when I first approached them, I was met with rejection. Then came another rejection. And then another. For two long years, I was told I wasn’t right for them. I couldn’t help but question what I was doing wrong. It felt like I was constantly pouring my heart and soul into something that didn’t seem to appreciate it.

But I didn’t give up. Instead, I took each rejection as an opportunity to learn and grow. I took the time to analyze my runway walk, to practice harder, to self-teach everything from posing to learning how to edit my own photos. I sought out new opportunities, collaborating with photographers and creatives who believed in me when the big names didn’t. In those years of rejection, I found strength. I discovered that the rejections weren’t a reflection of my worth, but a part of the process that would make my eventual success that much sweeter.

The Emotional and Mental Toll of a Competitive Industry

The creative industry, like many others, is fiercely competitive. Watching peers succeed while you’re still struggling can take a mental and emotional toll. There were times when I questioned whether it was worth all the sacrifices. The friendships I lost, the personal time I sacrificed, and the constant mental strain took their toll on me. I’ve given up birthdays, holidays, and weekends that could have been spent with family and friends. And in the process, I learned the painful truth: success often comes with trade-offs.

But the cost of success isn’t just time—it’s also emotional energy. The constant hustle, the fear of never being good enough, and the anxiety of rejection all piled up. But with time, I learned to manage my mental health. I focused on being present in the moment, acknowledging my feelings, and not letting the pressure consume me. I found peace in knowing that success would come on its own timeline, and the key to surviving the emotional rollercoaster was learning to be patient with myself.

Still Growing and Pushing Myself

Even after five years of extreme hard work, learning, and growing, I am still not the “finished product.” In many ways, I feel like my journey is just beginning. Every photoshoot, every collaboration, and every challenge is an opportunity to push my boundaries further. I’ve learned that growth is a never-ending process, and I am constantly evolving as an artist and as a person.

Modeling was never just about looking pretty on the outside. It’s about telling a story, creating a feeling, and challenging the status quo. I’m still learning my runway walk, still challenging myself with new creative concepts, and always pushing myself out of my comfort zone. The difference now is that I’ve learned to do so with confidence, self-love, and resilience.

The Power of Self-Belief and Hard Work

Ultimately, what has gotten me to where I am today is simple: hard work, self-belief, and an unwavering passion for what I do. I’ve learned that you don’t need to have everything figured out or be the “perfect” candidate to succeed. What you need is the determination to keep going, the ability to rise above setbacks, and the courage to embrace who you are. In this industry, like in life, you’ll face many obstacles. But if you’re willing to keep pushing, learn from each experience, and embrace your own journey, the rewards are worth every sacrifice.

My path hasn’t been easy, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Through the struggles, the doubts, the rejection, and the hard work, I’ve come to realize that the only way to truly succeed is to never stop believing in yourself—no matter the obstacles in your way.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
A Fun Fact About Me That Might Surprise You: A Life of Music, Mysteries, and My Unique Connection with Birds

While many people know me as a model, actress, and vocal coach, there’s an unexpected side of me that most don’t know—I’m a skilled musician and a passionate bird lover with a deep connection to the paranormal.

I’ve always had a love for music, and it’s not just confined to my voice. I play both electric and acoustic guitar, which is a fun fact that tends to surprise people! Whether it’s strumming to a soft acoustic tune or rocking out on the electric guitar, I love to create music in every way I can. What really sets me apart, though, is my vocal versatility. I’ve been trained in everything from soprano to alto, with the ability to belt, control vibrato, and wrap in my vocal range. Singing isn’t just a passion—it’s a part of who I am. Some of my favorite songs to perform include classics like Joan Jett, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and of course, the iconic “Fergalicious” by Fergie! But it’s not all about pop hits; I have a secret love for country music as well, and you’ll often catch me belting out some country tunes when no one’s around.

Beyond music, I have an absolutely fascinating obsession with the paranormal and cryptids. Since I was a child, I’ve been captivated by the mysteries of the unknown—the creatures that are said to lurk in the shadows, the strange and eerie stories that seem to defy logic. This fascination has influenced a lot of my creative work and continues to fuel my curiosity and imagination. It’s something that gives me a unique perspective on life and helps me bring something a little “different” to every project I take on.

But perhaps the most special part of my life is my unwavering love for birds. Not only do I have an incredible bond with my feathered friends, but I also have a unique talent for working with sanctuary birds, especially those with behavioral issues. It’s something that comes naturally to me. There’s just something so profound about the connection between a person and a bird, especially those that have been through trauma and need a second chance. This love for birds is so central to my life that it even plays a role in my business and personal brand.

The logo for my business Darkziperox Coaching is deeply inspired by a special bird in my life: my Malakian Eclectus parrot, Hiccup. Hiccup’s story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. He had been through a traumatic experience that left him unable to fly, which broke my heart because he deserved to feel the freedom of the sky. When Hiccup passed, I created a symbolic gesture for him—I gave him wings. The logo you see today is a representation of that act, a tribute to his spirit. The bird in the logo also has a missing toe, which was another physical characteristic of Hiccup that I chose to honor. His imperfection became a symbol that our differences do not define us. Just like Hiccup, we all have challenges to overcome, but it’s those very challenges that help us soar higher.

The logo serves as a reminder that, no matter the obstacles we face—whether it’s in our personal lives or careers—we can rise above them and follow our dreams. Hiccup’s legacy continues to inspire me to help others push through their struggles and be unapologetically unique, just like him.

In many ways, my love for birds, music, and the paranormal all blend together to shape who I am today. It’s the perfect combination of creativity, passion, and the belief that we can always rise, no matter the odds. So, whether I’m singing my heart out, playing guitar, exploring the unknown, or working with birds, I’m always on a mission to help others find their wings and achieve the extraordinary.
