Meet Aaron Rosenbluth of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Rosenbluth

Hi Aaron, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been obsessed with art, music, and words all my life. And I never approached education or my career the “right” way. I grew up working in Colorado’s independent record stores before making money riding a fixed-gear bike on Denver’s streets as a bicycle messenger. Later, I entered the interior design and vintage midcentury furniture collecting world, and finally, through an industry backdoor, I made my way into marketing. I’ve been Director of Content for 4B Marketing/Hybrid Marketing Co., specializing in cannabis marketing (Hybrid) and tech and professional services (4B) for nearly a decade. I bring ALL my experience (even the strange, seemingly random experiences and interests I’ve collected since childhood) to my marketing role. Marketing makes sense of all the peculiar “things” I’ve seen, experienced, and done in my life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m not an academic (though I love learning). School was a challenge. Grit and determination pushed me through high school, but my college career fell apart after my first year. I struggled to find my path through my turbulent twenties, but every bump increased my determination. Struggles are my fuel. Like many people, I battle imposter syndrome and anxiety, but I take everything in stride (a daily meditation practice, endurance sports, and regular sauna and cold plunge also help). It’s part of the process, like client feedback, creative roadblocks, and leadership skills growth. It’s like Ryan Holiday says – the obstacle is the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m Director of Content, meaning I oversee the BIG world of content marketing for our agency and clients. Alongside my team, I develop and execute content marketing strategies across the digital landscape (and in the real world), including web copy, SEO-driven blog and long-form content, social media, print and digital advertising, etc. I’m proud of the work we develop and the outcomes it produces for our clients, but I’m most proud of the success of the team I oversee. When our people win, I win. There’s nothing better than making space for wildly talented creatives to do their best work. I don’t spend much time thinking about what sets me/us apart from others. I’d instead focus on developing outstanding creative that makes an impact.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Don’t take feedback personally. Embrace and learn from it.
