Meet Alejandra Alejos of Fort Collins CO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandra Alejos.

Alejandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m originally from Guatemala City. I left Guatemala 8 years ago and moved to Colorado with my husband looking for better opportunities. When I left my country I had to pause my marketing career because I was in the process of getting my green card. After getting my permanent residence, in 2023 I finally got my citizenship and that was the moment when I decided to go back to what I love doing, Marketing.

I worked for more than 10 years in the marketing field in Guatemala for different industries including a NGO, banking, government and retail. In 2016, I earned a Master’s Degree in Marketing Direction from the Universidad de Murcia, in Spain.

In 2023 I enrolled in a digital marketing certificate at Northwestern University, Kellogg, and in January 2024 I opened my own Digital Marketing Agency.

Coming from Latin America and now living in the US as a US citizen, I felt, I was in the middle of two different cultures and my goal was to be a bridge between those 2 markets working with Hispanics and Americans.

Today, 90% of my clients are hispanics in the US who run their own service companies and who prefer to work with a marketing agency that speaks Spanish and understands their culture. Some of the companies I work with are: Roofing companies, HVAC, handyman, construction, cleaning, water treatment, dentists, retail, etc.

As an immigrant I know how hard and challenging it can be for anyone to move to a new country, learn a new language, understand the culture, and finally start a new business. That’s why I always try to help as much as I can my clients and guide them through the best strategies to grow their companies.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Moving to a complete different country with a different language and culture.
Going to a legal process to get a work visa, then a green card and finally becoming a US citizen. That process took me 5 years.
Starting a new business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m passionate about marketing. I consider myself an artist, because I’m very creative and into innovation. I love trying new things, taking risks. The biggest proof is that I left everything in Guatemala when I moved to the US and started from scratch.

I’m a person than loves style, everything I do in my personal and professional side has to be different, creative, innovative, etc. I apply this rule to every strategy I create for my clients. That’s something they love from me.

Since I was very little, I was always very disciplined and organice. Today more than ever, those 2 things help me to keep learning and growing as a professional.

How do you think about happiness?
Spending time with my family and friends. For me as a Latina, family is everything.
