Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Sage.
Hi Alex, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Following earning my associate of arts degree I worked in the craft beer industry for over 13 years. Throughout this time I really grew a passion for graphic design through beer labels, event posters and marketing. I returned to Front Range Community College to earn my graphic design certificate and multimedia design certificate. I now design beer labels for City Star Brewing and do freelance work as a graphic designer.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a smooth road with a few curves. Going to school and working simultaneously has it’s challenges but I am grateful to be afforded the opportunities of both. I am fortunate to have great mentors along the way who have helped my graphic design work flourish.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in joining my expertise in marketing with graphic design. I love giving a voice to brands through imagery and really connecting people through this. I love to uplift small business’ stories and helping them shine through.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was always an introvert. I enjoyed art but quietly and always with a bit of imposter syndrome. I have learned to navigate this and grow confidence in creating my own style blending minimalism and a keen eye for typography. I have always had an interest in the arts and all things odd and curious.
