Meet Anastasiia Kliuieva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasiia Kliuieva.

Hi Anastasiia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in the beauty industry began 5 years ago. I was finishing school and the time was approaching to choose the specialty that I would enter after graduation.

But during the last two years of school, I always wanted to start working and making money as soon as possible. At that time, I lived with my mother, grandmother, who was already retired, and brother – we were the most ordinary Ukrainian family, so of course I wanted to earn money to help my mother and grandmother and become financially independent myself.

One day, I woke up and realized that nothing had ever attracted me more than working in the beauty industry, one of the main advantages of this work was that this work did not require a higher education and I could start doing it immediately after graduation. I was lucky to see an advertisement from one wonderful teacher who was conducting courses on teaching the profession of Brow Master.

Many professional eyebrow specialists in our city were trained by this mentor. Finally, I started studying. From the very first day of training, from the very first lesson, I immediately understood – this is the business to which I want to devote my time, energy, and life after all.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
After completing the training, I immediately tried to get a job in a beauty salon. After working in one of them for two weeks, I realized that working “for someone else” was not suitable for me. I started working from my home and, since I was still considered a rookie, not attached to any salon at that time, at first it was very difficult to find clients.

I worked a lot for free to give some kind of advertising, and to meet people who eventually became my regular clients, and within half a year I already had my client base. From that moment on, I started renting my own space in the beauty salon. After hundreds and thousands of hours of hard work and experience, I began teaching girls this profession. Since then, over the next 3 months, I trained 20 people, all 20 of whom mastered the skills of this profession and began to work themselves and earn money from it.

And then the war began… The war in my country, the war in my city, the war literally in my house. 95% of the buildings in my hometown of Mariupol are considered destroyed by Russian troops. There is no beauty salon left, no school where I studied, no place where I started my profession. On March 16, 2022, during the largest shelling of Mariupol from the Russian side during the war, one of the aerial bombs flew into my house, destroyed the roof, landed in the living room, stuck in the sofa, and never exploded.

The war changed a lot in my thinking and my understanding of what is important and what is not. I began to appreciate what I had not paid attention to before which had seemed ordinary and insignificant to me. After the start of the war, I had to live away from my family, away from my home and hometown. At first, it was Sweden, where wonderful people lived, who always worried about me and my family and offered all kinds of help.

A year later, I came to the United States where I met beautiful people, I made friendships with them and I found the way to start my journey as an eyebrow specialist all over again. Most recently, I had the opportunity to start working in a separate office and create comfort for you in it, for which I am very grateful to my friends.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I perform procedures such as coloring, correction, and everyone’s favorite eyebrow lamination (by the way, I was surprised that not everyone in America knew about this procedure). I also do eyelash tinting and lamination.

Most of my clients are people who trusted me with their eyebrows and looked at themselves in a new way, one might say, acquired a completely different look. The correctly chosen eyebrow shape makes the face more expressive, so my favorite time in my work is when, after the procedure, I see the smiles on the faces of satisfied clients.

First of all, I do not impose my opinion and do not give everyone the same type of eyebrows; I always listen to each client and his wishes.

I constantly improve my skills and knowledge. Therefore, my works correspond to our time. And I always put the quality of my work first, not quantity. It is very important to me that people know that if they come to me and trust me to care for their faces, it will be professional and high quality, no matter what, so that people also know that they can always come to me, relax, talk, spend time for fun and, in the end, get the eyebrows and eyelashes they always wanted to have.
