Hi Andrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Andrea Palten, a seasoned marketing executive with a proven track record in growth strategies, demand generation, and digital marketing. As a strategic leader, I specialize in driving comprehensive marketing initiatives across diverse sectors, including SaaS, Tech, Agencies, Finance, and more.

Currently, I am the Vice President of Marketing at Techstars leading the digital marketing and pipeline teams. My professional journey includes impactful roles at renowned organizations such as Transamerica, Good Sam | Camping World, Effective (and Ogilvy agency), and the American Humane Association.

I’m a Cornell University marketing master’s certificate holder and a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. My international background as a German native adds a unique global perspective to my strategic approach.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Marketing changes so fast and so much with all the new social media channels, privacy changes, evolving consumer behaviors and so much more.

So the challenge is to decide what changes to implement and what not to. Also what to spend time on learning and what not to do.

I’m currently the Vice President of Marketing at Techstars. A wonderful organization that helps start-up organizations. Techstars provides funding and fundraising opportunities, workshops, and curated resources for entrepreneurs.

What matters most to you?
Life/work balance. I’ve worked myself up from a marketing coordinator to an executive and always made sure to keep my hours manageable.

It’s easy to work 60, 70+ hours in corporate, but if you can figure out how to work smarter, not harder, you got it made. Having a personal life with no work interfering is vital to both my mental and physical well-being.
