Meet Anthony Mihaly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Mihaly.

Hi Anthony, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Fort Collins/Loveland Colorado, homeschooled, one of 9 children. Music was a big part of our life but completely different than how it is now. My mother got us all started on the piano at an early age, which I hated, my parents bought me my first drum set at age 15 and I was writing songs and playing open mics, forming bands, and playing shows for as long as I can remember. As soon as I turned 18, I moved to Utah to play music and was drafted by a church to become a worship leader. On a tour/mission trip to Europe was when I knew that something in my life had to change because I was very unfulfilled. I packed what little I had and moved back to Colorado to start over. That was about 6 or 7 years ago. In that time, I’ve put out 2 eps’, toured the country, and even moved to Nashville for a year to record a record. (Unreleased). Going through the ups and downs of being a songwriter and musician the pandemic helped me realize that music is lifesaving and life-changing. For the first time, I feel like I have something to say with my voice and something to give back to the world. With my music art and songs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No one’s road is a smooth one, I’ve learned to be grateful for every challenge and failure. As an artist, I think my biggest struggle is getting out of my own way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I love most about my work is that as long as I feel creative, I have an outlet at my disposal. Be it songwriting, drumming, installation art, business ideas, there is no shortage of ways to make the world a little more beautiful each day. Right now, I am probably most proud of the record that I made in Nashville and finished at the blasting room. I’m proud of the work that I’ve done on myself and a human and how I am learning to be a good friend to those I love.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Exploring our childhood farm, alone, with my imagination, while my mom looked for me to finish my school work.
