Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlie Adam

Hi Ashlie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My family moved to Colorado 10 years ago. We had never skied and decided we wanted to be a ski family. We found Shredder Indoor Ski and Board school and enrolled our 5-year-old. After a few weeks of lessons, we went up to the mountain for the first time and he was a totally independent and proficient skier. My husband and I were amazed, and we had to learn how to keep up. Fast forward 8 years, we have 5 kids who have all learned to ski shredder. We love the ski life so much as a family when the opportunity came for us to purchase the Lafayette location, we jumped on it. We have loved owning this location and helping other young families like us get their kids ready to have amazing experiences on the slopes of the mountain resorts.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall it has been a great experience. However, the biggest challenge is selecting great staff that will give the best experience to our students. We have a high amount of staff turn over since a lot of our staff are college students. However, we feel like we are able to select amazing instructors that provide our students with a fun learning environment.

What are your plans for the future?
We want to keep growing our school by increasing the number of students. We want to do this by adding more classes so that each class stays a small group so every student gets individual attention. This year we added a season rental fleet to our school, so we can assist families with their kid rentals for the season.
