Today we’d like to introduce you to Avree Anderson
Hi Avree, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for fitness, but I chose to study business and marketing in college. After graduating, I wanted to pursue activities that benefited my physical and mental health. That’s when I discovered Lagree & Power Mixx Fitness. Over the past two years of teaching Lagree, I’ve aspired to grow within the Pilates industry and eventually own my own studio. While advancing my education and earning my second certification, I had the opportunity to open my small Pilates business, “Body Talk,” within Factum Performance, a local gym I have personally trained at for the past year. The ability to impact individuals one-on-one through Pilates and witness the transformation it brings has been incredibly fulfilling and aligned perfectly with my life’s path.
To further expand my knowledge and skills, I continuously seek out new training and certifications. This ongoing learning journey not only enhances my expertise but also ensures that I provide the best possible experience for my clients. The combination of my business background and passion for fitness has uniquely positioned me to make a meaningful impact in the Pilates community, and I’m excited to continue growing and helping others achieve their fitness goals.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Pilates is a complex workout that demands extensive knowledge and experience with the human body to tailor the right program for each individual. The age range for Pilates practitioners spans from as young as 6 years old to up to 70 years old. Customizing the optimal workout to achieve the greatest impact for each person presents unique challenges. Growing my clientele has also been a struggle, and I am grateful to Power Mixx Fitness for helping me forge numerous connections within the community over the past two years.
Building a successful Pilates business requires not only understanding the physical aspects of the practice but also effectively communicating its benefits to a diverse audience. Each client has unique needs and goals, making it essential to continuously learn and adapt. I am dedicated to expanding my knowledge and staying current with industry trends, which helps me provide the best possible experience for my clients. The support and connections I’ve gained through Power Mixx Fitness have been instrumental in my journey, and I am excited to continue growing my business and positively impacting more lives through Pilates.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What are you most proud of brand-wise?
I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built both before and after starting Body Talk. Seeing how much Pilates impacts not just the physical aspect of my clients’ lives but also their mental health is incredibly rewarding. We all face challenges in our everyday lives, and having a place to escape, focus on oneself, and release stress for 50 minutes is invaluable. Plus, Pilates is really addictive, if I do say so myself!
What do you do, and what do you specialize in/what are you known for?
We offer tailored Pilates sessions that address each client’s unique needs and goals. Known for our individualized approach, we ensure that every program is designed with the client’s specific requirements in mind. Our expertise lies in understanding the complexities of the human body and using that knowledge to optimize fitness outcomes.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am an avid podcast listener and reader. “The Skinny Confidential” podcast is my go-to for all things business and life-related. The book that changed my way of thinking is “Think Like a Monk” by Jay Shetty.
