Today we’d like to introduce you to Bette Lamont
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In the midst of what appears to be an ever larger population of children with spectrum, developmental, anxiety and learning disorders, the basic tool of The Integrated Brain provides answers that draw on 80 years worth of global research into what a child needs to be emotionally, physically, academically, psychologically and physically whole.
In the face of these accelerating concerns Bette Lamont, Jessie Forston and Anna Hassler have worked to understand the underpinnings of these issues and found answers in the natural development of brain functions, known as the Developmental Sequence. Anna Hassler, Certified Consultant in NeuroDevelpmental Movement seeing clients in Denver, and Bette Lamont, director of NeuroDevelopmental Movement Consultants, an international organization, are part of a community that has brought NDM (R) to England, Malaysia, Scotland, Canada and throughout the United States. Bette Lamont, who will be Anna’s teaching guest in Denver was part of a group that received an award from the Queen for her work in the UK, which has been integrated into British nurseries.
As parents and teachers struggle for answers to spectrum disorders, developmental delays, learning disabilities, anxiety , rages and other developmental challenges, the Integrated Brain working with NeuroDevelopmental Movement Consultants is bringing answers.
Our current project is a 4 month training program and we are highlighting the work of Bette Lamont as the lead trainer, joined by educator and NDM(R) consultant, Jessie Forston. In this project The Integrated Brain and Developmental Movement Consultants are offering opportunities for parents who are seeking lifelong, non-invasive and proven tools to help their children overcome these challenges and thrive.
Rather than help children compensate for these issues, our goal is to help children move past these diagnoses. Our successes range from children with learning and behavior disorders, to children with anxiety, rages and sensory processing concerns, and we have, together, worked with approximately 5,000 children across the globe.
We are excited to invite. parents and their children to participate in the most thorough Neurodevelopmental, sensory/motor/reflex assessment available today anywhere in the United States. We work with children to help them grow the way that nature grows healthy brains and minds. We have answers that parents are seeking. AND we are bringing this home to Denver.
HOMESCHOOLING FAMILIES, please note that we design homeschooling programs that integrate into daily homeschooling activities. I you are one of the Wild and Free homeschooling families, all of this will be familiar to you.
One mother said: “As we worked over the course of the year I saw my concerns for her emotional and academic issues fading away. Her NeuroDevelopmental Movement program was a slowly unfolding miracle. We could not be more grateful:”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path of quick fixes through medication and behavior plans have recently become unsatisfactory for many parents. Our work, which can take a child a year or two to move through is a deeper but more lasting investment. . Helping families understand the depth of changes that can occur in a child through our ongoing support of families has made working with families a joy as their children begin to blossom.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
NeuroDevelopmental Movement(R) as a field is comprised of a global network of practitioners, with The Integrated Brain being the Denver branch of that organization. The Integrated Brain, pairing with its parent organizations, NSI Brain and NeuroDevelopmental Movement Consultants, is proud to bring this work into the view of our Denver community.
We are known for our deep assessment of and attention to children with challenges on a wide spectrum of common concerns. Our graduates are largely symptom free by the end of their work with an NDM(R) program. We stand out from the crowd of Brain/Body practitioners as the original, the broadest and the deepest programs available to address neurodevelopmental concerns. Because of the breadth of our work we are able to impact learning issues, psychological well-being, behavior challenges, and physical issues, such as gait or eye-hand coordination issues. We address issues of the brain, the central source of these challenges.
We would love your readers to know that children who work with us have deep and thorough assessments of all of their visual, auditory, tactile, gross motor, fine motor and language skills at all levels of the central nervous system, discovered in a 3 hour initial assessment tool with ongoing assessment and follow up. We partner with parents to help each child reach their potential using tools drawn from the Developmental Sequence, that body of reflexes, movement and sensory skills that comprise normal human development. They are assigned home programs, and for homeschoolers this is the ideal approach, as noted in the Wild and Free books by Ainsley Arment.
Every three months we then reassess children and take them to the next level of neurodevelopmental health.
