Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Duffy.
Hi Brian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Before we opened The Studio, I was part of a team of personal trainers at Pura Vida Fitness & Spa in Cherry Creek when the gym unexpectedly closed in 2019. Three of my colleagues and I, as co-owners, quickly pivoted by establishing a temporary gym in a former office building in Cherry Creek. After about eight months of successful operations, we expanded by opening our first permanent brick-and-mortar location on 3rd Avenue in Cherry Creek. We operated at this location for three years before relocating to our current larger facility, on 3rd & Milwaukee, to accommodate our growing gym. For the past 2.5 years, our gym has thrived at this new location, supported by a dedicated team of now seven full-time personal trainers and amazing clientele!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the most significant challenges The Studio faced was opening our first built-out brick-and-mortar location just four months prior to the onset of the pandemic, which necessitated a temporary closure. Fortunately, over time we were able to successfully reopen and have since then steadily grown and strengthened our Studio community.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our trainers at The Studio have been trusted Cherry Creek personal trainers going back to 2008. Our trainers have decades of experience, advanced degrees in exercise science, nutrition dietetics and accredited certifications from leading performance institutions.
The Studio provides scientific results driven personal training in a safe non-intimidating environment. Our team works closely with clients on fitness assessment, proper movement mechanics and nutrition counseling all personalized to our client’s needs. We want our clients to train like an expert but have fun doing it!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
A favorite childhood memory was going to Disneyland with my family; we would be at the park from open to close. My grandparents lived near Disneyland in Anaheim so we would go to the park almost every year growing up and stay at their house. I still love space mountain ha.
