Meet Buckstein of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Buckstein

Hi Buckstein, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Started singing when I was young mostly in plays in Middle School and High School. I went to college to become an actor, but shortly after college I got into American Idol and made it to the Top 40. Then my career shifted. I started as most do singing mostly covers in bars. Things grew from there and I now focus on original material as much as possible.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely a roller coaster. Some things are easy; finding my will to perform was never hard. Other things like trying to get representation, good production, book shows and keep a band together have had their challenges I’ve had to figure out along the way. The toughest part is strategy. This is a business with no real blueprint. There are so many ways to make it work.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I sing songs with many different slants and styles. I’m not afraid to cut anything. If it sounds good and I can lend my voice to it, I wanna bring it to the stage.

How do you think about happiness?
Performing to a crowd who’s fully engaged and loving every minute of it. The more excited they get, the more engaged and dynamic I am.
