Meet CB Bowman of Windsor

Today we’d like to introduce you to CB Bowman.

Hi CB, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From the start, my journey as one of the first interior designers of color has been defined by a willingness to challenge the status quo and reimagine what’s possible, not just for myself, but for others around me.
Early on in my career, as one of the first Black female executives in a Fortune 500 consumer products company, I learned that courage isn’t about being fearless; it’s about taking bold steps in the face of uncertainty and using adversity as fuel for positive change.
After years in branding and senior leadership roles, developing iconic products like Honey Bunches of Oats, I pivoted to executive coaching, discovering new ways to nurture talent and drive impact from the C-suite to the front lines. Moving to Colorado from New Jersey ignited my entrepreneurial spirit, inspiring me to continue to grow the Association of Corporate Executive Coaches (ACEC) and the MEECO Leadership Institute, both of which are dedicated to elevating the profession and setting the gold standard for mastery-level coaches worldwide.
Over time, I realized that the common thread in all my work, keynotes, podcasting, consulting, and authorship, was courage: helping leaders redefine failure as success by taking intentional leaps, even when it’s uncomfortable. Today, whether through my book, ‘Courage to Leap & Lead,’ my podcast, or ACEC, I remain committed to building a legacy of empowering others to lead with heart, resilience, and strategic courage in every aspect of their journey.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, and frankly, I wouldn’t want it to be. Every chapter of my story, much like in my book “Courage to Leap & Lead…Redefining Failure Into Success,” is filled with detours, setbacks, and moments that demanded more grit than I ever thought I possessed.
Some struggles were deeply personal, such as overcoming racial discrimination early in my corporate career, learning to speak up, push back against bias, and forge my voice as a leader in rooms where few looked like me. Others were professional: challenging the norms of what executive coaching could be, daring to build associations and frameworks from scratch when the rulebook simply didn’t fit.
I constantly wrestled with the fear of failure, but ultimately realized that real courage comes from taking leaps despite that uncertainty, not in the absence of it. The beauty is, each of those struggles taught me how to transform failure into learning and resilience, shaping my proprietary microcourage methodology, which now guides my work with executives and organizations worldwide.
So, while the road has been full of bumps, pivots, and trials, I’ve found them to be the most valuable teachers of all.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Courage Consulting and the Association of Corporate Executive Coaches (ACEC) are both deeply committed to inspiring transformational leadership and redefining what success looks like at the highest levels of organizations. Courage Consulting specializes in helping C-suite executives and decision-makers tackle complex challenges by implementing strategic courage, in other words, providing practical, actionable solutions and frameworks to turn risk into growth, failure into learning, and vision into impact. The hallmark of the firm is our proprietary microcourage methodology, designed to help leaders make bold moves with clarity and accountability. Our hands-on facilitation approach means clients experience authentic growth in real time.
ACEC, meanwhile, stands as the premier organization for master-level corporate executive coaches worldwide. We are known for rigorous standards, advanced credentialing, and our belief that top coaches must act as “Enterprise-wide Business Partners™”, supporting not just individuals but transforming whole organizations. Our offering certification, global networking, learning forums, and thought leadership conferences. All are designed to elevate the field and to advocate for greater credibility and professionalism in executive coaching.
What sets both brands apart is our fierce dedication to continuous learning, ethical excellence, and community; we believe courageous leadership isn’t just an individual hallmark—it’s a collective movement. I’m most proud that our work and reputation have led to collaborations with renowned companies and influential change-makers globally, and that ACEC’s Master Corporate Executive Coach certification is widely recognized as the gold standard in the industry.
Readers should know that whether they seek strategic consulting, inspirational keynotes, or membership in a community of elite coaches, our offerings are centered on activating courage as a business advantage, a mindset designed to help leaders and organizations thrive amid complexity and change.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The executive coaching and consulting industry is heading into a bold new era, shaped by rapid technological change, greater inclusivity, and a demand for tangible results. In the next 5-10 years, expect massive shifts—AI and digital tools will become central to how coaching is delivered, making experiences more data-driven, insightful, and personalized for every leader. Coaching access will expand beyond the C-suite, democratizing development for frontline and high-potential employees in organizations of all sizes.
Trends such as hybrid and remote work, virtual learning, and an emphasis on emotional intelligence and resilience will drive new approaches. As a result, coaching will increasingly focus on team dynamics, diversity, equity, inclusion, and well-being, rather than just individual performance. Consultants and coaches who specialize in niche challenges, deliver measurable outcomes, and leverage digital-first methods will set themselves apart. I see a sharp rise in scalable, tech-enabled models, as well as a renewed focus on purpose-driven, sustainable leadership.
What’s most exciting: coaching will no longer be seen as a “perk,” but as an essential engine for organizational transformation and competitive advantage. Those prepared to innovate, embrace AI, and build human-centered brands will thrive in this future landscape.
