Hi David, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
The KICKASS FILM FEST has been making a name for itself in the Colorado film community. Since its inception three years ago, it’s grown in popularity each year, a testament to the amazing independent filmmakers and film lovers who support us. We provide an experience that is like no other, with red-carpet events for every showcase, awards and prizes for all winners, and an incredible opportunity to network with people from the Art & Film industry.

Our 72-Hour Kick Ass Film Fest challenges filmmakers to write, film, and edit their 5-7 minute shorts within a fixed period. Our enthusiasm for independent filmmaking is unmatched and we can’t wait to see what our supporters bring next!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a wild ride bringing our film festival to life! Starting from just a fun side project three years ago, organizing and managing the event through its earliest stages was no easy feat. We had to use all sorts of strategies to pivot and eventually make it successful, despite facing backlash when we were first announced.

However, we are thrilled to report that we have won over all those initial nay-sayers and they are now competing in the festival themselves! On April 8th, our culminating Award Ceremony will be hosted at the prestigious Sangre De Cristo Arts Center: a simply breathtaking recognition of all the passionate hard work we put into this journey.
