Meet Eric Schrader of ELIME Technology LLC

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Eric J. Schrader — Breaking the Mold in Next-Gen Design & IT Support

Long before he became a top-rated Managed Service Provider and the creative force behind ELIME Technology LLC, Eric J. Schrader was a small-town kid in Benkelman, Nebraska, with a big curiosity for technology. While most high school students were thinking about weekend plans or sports, Eric was hand-coding web pages in Microsoft FrontPage and later on Dreamweaver, fascinated by how design and technology could come together to create something bigger, and also viewed all around the world.

His first moment of “this might really be something” came in the early 2000s when he built a Lucille Ball fan site—just for fun—that quickly attracted attention online. That early spark led Eric straight into entrepreneurship. By his junior year of high school, a simple business-class assignment grew into his first company, Sites By E Web Design. His earliest clients—the Benkelman Area Chamber of Commerce, Doubletree Realty, and Wireless iNet—trusted the work of a teenager who already had the talent, drive, and professionalism of someone twice his age. Also, during his senior year of high school, Eric placed 4th in a FBLA statewide web design competition.

From Dorm Room Brainstorm to a Regional Brand

In 2007, during a late-night dorm-room conversation, the name ELIME Design Studio was born. Under that banner, Eric spent the next decade and a half building websites, designing brand identities, and supporting small businesses across the Midwest and beyond. Eric also became engaged and inspired by marketing campaigns and signage during his tenure as an Assistant Manager with the highly recognizable clothing brand American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) in Casper, Wyoming, at Store 2073.

Evolving Into ELIME Technology LLC

By 2020, Eric felt a shift coming in the industry. Businesses didn’t just need beautiful websites—they needed a partner who understood cybersecurity, cloud systems, disaster recovery and backups, workflow automation, and long-term IT strategy. He expanded ELIME into a next-generation hybrid agency, combining his creative talents and passion for technology. With his new focus and drive to provide design and technology under the same umbrella, a rebrand became official in September of 2025 with the launch of ELIME Technology LLC.

With a new focus and a bigger vision, ELIME adopted a powerful guiding principle:

Today, Eric provides a full suite of forward-thinking, customer-centered services—remote IT support, cybersecurity, disaster recovery solutions, SaaS administration, M365 and Google Workspace support, software procurement, WordPress development, and ongoing creative design. In 2023, ELIME Technology was rated a Best of Colorado winner by UpCity.

Innovation at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

Even while growing ELIME, Eric continues to serve full-time as an Application Specialist at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Castle Rock, where his design and technical expertise have made a lasting impact. He has built and maintains the agency’s public-facing websites, launched the agency’s recruiting and hiring website, and developed various SharePoint and Power Platform applications that improve workflows and communication.

He also created a 24/7 employee wellness portal and mobile app, supported major law enforcement initiatives, and developed several WordPress applications, such as an online bonding service and a platform for the 23rd Regional Child Abduction Response Team. Various Denver metro-area law enforcement agencies have also recognized Eric’s dedication and design initiatives.

At 38, Eric has his eyes on the future: turning ELIME Technology into a full-time, self-sustaining business that blends everything he loves—creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and helping others. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From starting a business in High School to working as a freelance web and graphic designer to maintaining a full-time job while working to fulfill the dream of a full-time business, there have been many sleepless nights, working long hours on projects, and, of course, all the stressors that come along for the ride. Of course, there is also the financial aspect of launching a business, including working with vendors and achieving a stable point without cutting corners, which can jeopardize customer relationships and business operations.
