Meet Gamille Valbrun of Valley Stream

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gamille Valbrun.

Hi Gamille, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

My name is Gamille Valbrun and I’m the youngest of 3, an only daughter, and a 2nd Generation Haitian American. Growing up, there was strict importance on education and becoming self made. I attended catholic school all my life until I went to my first public school for college Stony Brook University. I was like any other child, I was obsessed with Disney & loved doing my athletics like dance & gymnastics. Yet, there was something different in my character: my drive, ambition, work ethic and being a big dreamer. From a young age, everything I set my mind to I did – whether it was straight A’s, making a gymnastics team with a few months of experience, or crafting future business ideas and side hustles in high school. I always knew I wanted a certain lifestyle and to become the best version of myself. So I started early, at age 14 I was doing self development from reading books to watching educational YouTube videos. Due to mental health struggles and high school quarries, I learned how to practice self love and self introspection – often journaling and watching videos from older women on life lessons and self esteem. By the end of high school, I joined a sales and trading business with my older brother (during the time of covid) in which I learned another skill I was talented in: marketing. After graduating highschool and leaving that business, I stepped into a new journey of college. My dream college was Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, which I got accepted to but couldn’t go due to financial struggles so I had to go to Stony Brook University, picked out by my parents. At first, the plan was for me to commute with my dad for most of the years until I learned to drive. I couldn’t abide by that. I had to leave home and start my own life, so I convinced my immigrant Haitian parents which was tough to do but eventually I left home and began forming my own life in the second semester of freshman year. Moving away to college was truly a transformative journey for me because as a child I was very sheltered growing up and didn’t have the environment much to grow independently. Most of it being from Haitian culture with tough mother/daughter dynamics and stereotypes made upon me since I was a petite black girl in this “big world.” Once I moved to university I’ve built an amazing life for myself and truly have changed the trajectory of my life. I rediscovered my love for majorette dance and became a member of my team The Diamond Wolfettes for 4 years and became Vice President in Spring 2024. I healed my trauma with academic validation growing up and shifted my why for

being an A student ultimately deciding it wasn’t to gain approval/please my parents but to create a foundation for attaining my dream life and not anyone else’s version of it. I continued my self development/self love journey by starting therapy which has helped immensely in healing my inner child and navigating life new challenges as I enter adulthood. I started content creation from my love of romanticizing life and marketing. I was able to help thousands with my content from talks about mental health, college lifestyle, academic motivation & tips, life as a dancer, and becoming the best version of yourself. Brands reached out to me like Chegg, Amazon, Sparkling Ice, NMDP & more for partnerships and to help amplify their vision and how it relates to my brand message – furthermore turning content creation into a career I now do part time. From not wanting to go to this college at all to building my dream life there speaks to the type of woman I am. I can make flowers bloom anywhere and my resilience is one of none. My deep vision for my life and hard work ethic has gotten me where I am today because I continued to be unapologetically me throughout my journey no matter what obstacles came my way or people who tried to sway their vision for my life onto me. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

No it has not been a smooth road. I have struggled with family drama & issues, mental health: anxiety, depression, perfectionism, I’ve struggled with self doubt, people pleasing, and having autonomy over my own life. It’s been a challenge growing to be independent and setting boundaries with my family and people around me. I had to really push myself with my discipline and resilience on days my dream felt so far away to get the success I have today. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I’m a multi-passionate creative and content creator who’s always had a deep love for storytelling, self-expression, and helping people feel seen. I started creating content in college first documenting my self-love and mental health journey, then expanding into wellness, beauty, college life, and brand partnerships. I had to develop an unapologetic attitude to have confidence filming in public/on campus

and focus on my goal while ignoring other opinions of this being embarrassing/cringe/not real life. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with brands like Amazon, Chegg, Thayers, and Sparkling Ice, producing content that’s reached over 1 million views and 50,000+ engagements across TikTok and Instagram. 

Now, as a freshly minted college graduate with degrees in Business Management and Psychology, I’m expanding into the corporate world. My goal is to work behind the scenes in social media or influencer marketing for a beauty or lifestyle brand — helping craft campaigns, manage brand partnerships, and bring ideas to life on a larger scale. It’s the perfect bridge between what I’ve done as a creator and what I’m building toward professionally. 

What sets me apart is my ability to see both sides — the brand and the creator. I understand how to engage an audience because I am the audience. I know what it takes to pitch, create, and deliver compelling content, but I also know how to analyze performance, manage relationships, and communicate brand voice. I’ve lived it, and now I’m excited to shape it. 

I’m most proud of how I’ve stayed authentic while creating opportunities for myself and others — turning rejection into redirection, and using my platforms to uplift, educate, and inspire. Whether I’m in front of the camera or behind the strategy, I’m always driven by purpose, connection, and creativity.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?

Over the next 5–10 years, I see the marketing and content creation industries becoming even more community-driven and values-based — especially with Gen Z leading the charge. We’re not just creating for the sake of aesthetics anymore; we’re creating with intention, transparency, and impact. Gen Z cares deeply about authenticity, equity, and purpose. That’s going to continue shaping the way brands show up.

I believe we’ll see more brands shifting from transactional content to relationship-based marketing — prioritizing storytelling, education, and meaningful engagement over quick sales. There’ll also be a greater emphasis on corporate social responsibility, as Gen Z pushes companies to take real stances on social issues and practice what they preach.

From an influencer and creator perspective, I think more of us will take hybrid paths — not just working with brands, but also working within them. We understand the power of community and relatability, and that’s a skill set brands are starting to value more than ever. So it’s an exciting time. The lines between consumer, creator, and marketer are blurring — and those who can authentically navigate all three will thrive.
