Meet Hanna Stump

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hanna Stump.

Hanna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started photography right when COVID hit. My sister-in-law bought me a camera for my birthday and I spent my free time taking photos of my loved ones during all that extra time at home! Slowly, I started taking photos of others and found out just how much I loved being behind the lens.

In November of 2021, I became an official LLC. Over the course of the past year, I have watched my life completely change in front of my eyes. In October of 2022, I had my first month where I was booked up every free day I had and started booking up months in advance. Now, I am booked up to 5 months in advance which I truly cannot believe! I am at the point where I am going to be able to quit my teaching job in May and pursue photography full-time. I am so excited to see my dream life come to fruition!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. There have been many sleepless nights, stress as I have never experienced before, and an immense amount of pressure that I had on myself to be able to do it all. I have had to learn how to have better time management and how to say no.

There have been so many new experiences this year that has caused me to further my education and learn how to do things that are outside of my comfort zone.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer and I own my own business. My photography style is warm, bold, and romantic. I do a little bit of everything but specialize in capturing couples.

The most important thing to me is building relationships with my clients and making them realize how beautiful they are and tell their stories. When a client works with me, it isn’t a one-and-done transaction. From that point on, I am truly invested in them and love being able to keep up with their lives.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is growing up in the arts! I grew up in Fort Collins and was a dinner theatre actor at Midtown Arts Center and Candlelight Dinner Theatre. I danced at Studio West Dance Center and did choir from 4th grade until I graduated high school.

All of these experiences truly formed me into who I am today. They taught me so many lessons and were where I met some of my best friends. I can’t pinpoint one exact memory from these places that stands out as my favorite, but I was always having a blast. I never would’ve imagined that my love for being creative would transform into photography, but I am so happy to still have a creative outlet today.
