Today we’d like to introduce you to Hazy OBE.
Hi Hazy OBE, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
To sum it up. Started off writing poetry as a real young kid, then I started making remixes to some of my favorite songs. As years went by and my interest for music had blossomed to my lifestyle, I started to create my own & finally developed my own sound through making hundreds of songs. I’ve traveled across The States spreading my music through networking, performing at different venues/clubs, and collaborating with fellow artists such as Peso Peso, DJ Luke Nasty, Dizzy Wright, Slim 400, and so much more. I’m years into the game but I’m barely scratching the surface for what’s to come.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely not easy. Making great music isn’t even half the work. There’s a whole different side of the industry that you have to explore and experience for yourself so you can gain the knowledge to progress forward. I’ve had my shares of ups and downs but I enjoy it all because it’s just part of the process and it comes with the territory. Every lesson is a blessing and I learn from all my wins and losses. I try not to get too high or low, it’s about balance.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in song writing and artist development. “Over a decade and still the king of the town.” As I say in my song “Far Away.” I’m known for music. I’m known for hit songs such as Prime Time, Blackout, 4am in Boulder, Northside, and most recently Rolls Royce & Man Down.
I’m a community man. Residing in Boulder County, along side my music career, I’m the Director for Sister Carmen Community Centers Thrift Store. Sister Carmen is a Non-Profit organization that helps the community of eastern boulder county and Erie with access to a food bank, digital literacy programs, and vouchers for the retail store to purchase household items and daily necessities. I’m a community builder.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love everything about the Mile High City. The food, the people, the Broncos!
We’ve got so much potential out here and lots of talent in all aspects.
A thing I dislike is the lack of entertainment industry & the lack of support from the Colorado consumers. We are one of the biggest consumer cities but we aren’t hip to most notable acts out here. There’s no constant revolving doors to get artists into the national spotlight, specifically with Rap & Hip Hop. Not my focus, just for thought.
