Meet Isaiah J of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah J.

Hi Isaiah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started by documenting the creative energy around me with simple videos and small projects. I was not trying to build a brand at first. I just wanted to capture moments that felt real.

As people connected with my work I grew more confident and launched Tagline, a print magazine rooted in community and honest storytelling. I delivered the first issue myself across Denver and that showed me the power of local voice.

Now I create video series and content that highlight Colorado artists and culture. My path has been simple. Stay consistent. Stay true. Keep building platforms that lift up my city.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. Most of my journey has been learning by doing and figuring things out with limited resources. I have had to fund projects out of my own pocket, teach myself new skills, and stay motivated even when the results were slow.

There were moments when I questioned if anyone would care about what I was creating. There were times when I felt stretched thin trying to balance work, life, and my creative goals. But every challenge pushed me to grow. Each setback made me sharper, more focused, and more committed to telling real stories.

The struggles shaped the movement. They taught me patience, discipline, and the value of building community support from the ground up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create work that highlights Colorado culture through print and video. I run Tagline, a magazine focused on local voices and bold visual storytelling, and I produce video series that spotlight artists and neighborhoods across the state.

I am known for an authentic style that blends documentary energy with creative direction. What I am most proud of is that everything I make stays rooted in community and real storytelling.

What sets me apart is my focus on honesty and connection. I am not chasing trends. I am building a platform that lets people feel seen and shows the true creative pulse of my city.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice is to be real, genuine, and helpful to others. Most connections grow naturally when you show respect, support people, and move with honesty. Being yourself will open more doors than any script or strategy.
