Meet Jake Riederer of OPEN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Riederer.

Hi Jake, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
OPEN started as a way to bring together Denver’s chefs in collaboration, and supply the public with a chef quality meal, between two slices of bread. I asked 5 of my chef friends and my partner Jhon Chavez to each construct a sandwich for the menu.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t know that starting any business is a smooth road. That being said, we’ve encountered very few obstacles which we couldn’t overcome.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about OPEN?
OPEN makes chef designed sandwiches, and gives a portion of the proceeds to charity. We have a wide array of flavors all of which exemplify that chefs tastes and ideas.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
The Lean Start Up was very helpful. Be ready to pivot and get the minimum viable product to market
