Meet Jazmin And Katie Perez (Jazmin) Tarin Rodriguez (Katie) of Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmin And Katie Perez (Jazmin) Tarin Rodriguez (Katie).

Hi Jazmin and Katie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Casa Blanca started with two best friends, a shared love for home fragrance, and the belief that the products we bring into our homes should feel luxurious without compromising on the quality of ingredients. As two women building a business from the ground up, we wanted to create a brand that felt elevated, intentional, and still personal to us.
What began with hand-pouring candles in small batches has grown into a Denver-based home fragrance brand offering candles, linen mists, custom gifting, and wholesale partnerships. Every product is still hand-poured locally using non-toxic, vegan ingredients, and we’ve been intentional about maintaining that quality as we grow.

Over time, Casa Blanca has expanded beyond direct-to-consumer sales into pop-ups, retail, and wholesale partnerships, custom and co-branded projects, and collaborations with other local businesses. Some of our most exciting growth has come from seeing our products become part of other people’s spaces, businesses, events, and celebrations.

Getting to where we are today has involved a lot of learning as we go. We’ve had to figure out everything from product development and manufacturing to shipping, wholesale, branding, and creating content, all while continuing to evolve what Casa Blanca can become. We’re still very much in the building stage, but that’s one of the most exciting parts. Our goal has always been bigger than selling candles; we’re building a recognizable home fragrance and lifestyle brand rooted here in Denver.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but we think that’s also what has made the journey so rewarding. One of our biggest challenges has been learning how to grow a product-based business while both maintaining full-time careers. There have been a lot of late nights, weekends spent pouring candles, packing orders, attending pop-ups, creating content, and figuring out the next stage of the business.

Scaling has brought an entirely new set of challenges. Making a few candles is very different from producing hundreds while maintaining the same quality and attention to detail. We’ve had to learn through trial and error when it comes to manufacturing, sourcing, shipping, inventory, and product development. There have absolutely been moments where something didn’t work and we had to go back to the drawing board.

There’s also the financial side of growing a business. We’ve had to be intentional about when to invest, when to take a risk, and when to slow down. As Casa Blanca has grown, we’ve learned that not every opportunity is the right opportunity, even when we’re excited just to be considered.

One of our biggest lessons has been becoming comfortable with figuring things out as we go. We don’t have every answer, and there’s still so much we’re learning, but every challenge has made us better business owners and pushed Casa Blanca closer to the brand we’ve always envisioned.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
While we offer a range of candles and linen mists, we’ve become especially known for our signature 150 oz XL candles.

Our XL candles are oversized, statement pieces designed for larger spaces and for people who want their home fragrance to feel like part of the décor. Each one is hand-poured in Denver and made with the same attention to detail as our smaller candles, just on a much larger scale. They’ve become one of the products we’re most proud of because they represent what Casa Blanca is all about: luxury, quality, and creating something memorable.

We’re proud that Casa Blanca has developed a product that people recognize as uniquely ours. When someone sees an oversized luxury candle and immediately thinks of Casa Blanca, that’s exactly the kind of brand recognition we’re working toward.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
We would say adaptability. Building Casa Blanca has required us to constantly learn, adjust, and be willing to try again when something doesn’t work the first time. There is no exact roadmap for growing a business, especially when you’re creating and manufacturing your own products.

We listen closely to our customers, pay attention to what is working, and aren’t afraid to make changes as we grow. Whether it’s refining a product, exploring a new partnership, or completely rethinking how we do something behind the scenes, we’ve learned not to become too attached to one way of doing things.

We also think consistency has played a huge role. Even while balancing full-time careers and everything that comes with growing a business, we continue to show up for Casa Blanca. Some seasons are exciting and fast-moving, while others require patience and a lot of work behind the scenes. Being adaptable enough to evolve, but consistent enough to keep going, has been one of the biggest contributors to our success.
