Meet Jimmi and I’m A Boy of Five Points, Denver City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmi Nasi and his band I’m A Boy, featuring Graham Mueller on drums and John Rasmussen on bass.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
There is no brief walk-through. It is a harrowing tail of triumph and tragedy along the rocky seas of rock ‘n’ roll’s waters. Proceed if you dare. Ha, OK, it looks like I get a second chance. Ha again! Jimmi was a member of Denver alternative rock pioneers The 40th Day as a toddler (ha number three), widely praised and features in Westword, Denver Post, et al; then lived in New York City and Los Angeles: recorded an amazing album for Elektra Records that alas didn’t get released (They released Jet in our place!.) with the sleaze rock powerhouse Ghettoblaster. John was a long running member of Denver shoegaze legends Pale Sun. Graham’s been in too many bands to list….

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have worked as recording and performing musicians in Denver (Jimmi’s a native), Los Angeles, New York City, and Seattle. We are now doing the dang thing in Denver while also employed as teacher (Jimmi), entrepreneur (Graham), and expert number cruncher (John)

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Ha, oh man that’s a big one…
