Today we’d like to introduce you to JoeY BanzZ.
Hi JoeY , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started music in 2017 with inspiration from my cousin David Lucero III. I would record songs on beats he had in his computer. After I found it was a mind escape and allowed me to paint pictures; I fell in love with being a musical artist… later I started producing my own beats as well as for other artist’s. It’s been a journey a lot of late nights and sound selections, critiquing each format structure for my sound, constructive criticism and stepping out of my zone to grow to where I am today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road definitely has its bumps from how much there is to learn with being your own producer and searching new ways to create something different. Technology definitely doesn’t play fair I’ve had my whole computer reset and wipe all of my tracks because they weren’t backed up to the cloud (learned that lesson), and how expensive equipment can be to achieve your dream all plays a big factor.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a rap artist and producer. I specialize in writing, vocals & beat production. Slowly mastering the art of mix and mastering. My cousin David has taught me everything I know and to this day is the one I turn to for mixing/mastering. I would also say I’m know for my beats because I’m very diverse with my styles making me dive deep into how each track should properly sound. If you give me an idea I will run with it and make it my own. I’m proud of my growth as a artist when I look back at my first ever released songs to what I make either to gate-keep for myself or decide to put out makes me hear and feel my progression as an over all artist/producer.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The characteristic I carry as a person that has helped me thrive is my critiquing. I will re-record a vocal section a million times till I hear it punch the way I need it too or dig through a thousand sounds and structure my beats different ways to achieve the main genre/vibe I’m trying to create to keep my audience intrigued in my music.
