Meet John Chihoski of John Chihoski Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Chihoski.

John, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I come from a family of Entrepreneurs and Engineers, neither of which foster creativity in the way that photography requires. I’ve grown up always with access to some sort of camera or video recorder, whether or not it was with my parent’s permission. I eventually got hold of a basic digital camera. I viewed a camera as a tool or a machine to capture memories which it did well, but I never really used it to construct an aesthetic scene. As the years went on many of my close friends were also getting into photography and I finally got into my first professional camera. That enabled me to “flip a switch” and look at taking pictures differently using the various settings I now had control over. I had found my creativity and soon also found my favorite subject to take pictures of is people. I think it was the great diversity you can find in different people, through their eyes, outfits, and facial expressions, that really drew me to that genre of photography. It was also around this time where I really discovered my passion for business, through the creation of my own company to make photography a realistic aspiration. I made many connections in the business world and I ended up helping a lot of people grow their own businesses or even enhancing their careers by giving them outstanding images to represent themselves with. Historically I’ve catered to businesses of all sizes with mostly product photography needs but now beginning this January, I plan to expand the service range to provide for the people that make a business run. This service to me really hits home and ties all my passions in life together in a nice affordable package. My dedicated team and I will be able to offer the highest quality pictures of team members without ever having to leave the office building. I love helping people look their best and achieve their goals, and with the novel mobile studio we put together, I’m able to control all the aspects around an image. The result is near-perfect images with amazing consistency and the person I’m shooting at the center of them. The final pictures and packages are creatively engineered to give individuals in any industry the best results. I’m so glad to be in the position that I’m in and I can’t wait to meet many new people in 2022!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think the going has ever been easy. As with anything I think there are aspects of the job I consider the most fun like taking the pictures themselves and the reward of seeing the finished product and the growth that comes with that. However, I feel like most of the struggles come from all the work that needs to happen in the background, especially running a business. There are many things that need to be structured so they run optimally and it’s up to me to determine what that structure or routine is to handle everything the business needs. Even when there is that routine to rely on, there are always many things to keep balanced that require a lot of time and effort. In short, as I grow and learn and overcome major struggles, there is always something on the horizon that will present itself as the next challenge. But, as Matt Damon said in a Crypto.com ad, “Fortune Favors the Brave”.

We’ve been impressed with John Chihoski Photography, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We provide the best in all forms of corporate photography but we have a specialized team that handles professional portraits. We are unique in our offerings because of our cutting-edge equipment which allows for media of the highest quality available to be captured and delivered faster than competitors. Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I would have to say that one of my favorite memories from my childhood was from back in 2006 when we had gotten an enormous amount of snow in Golden. My dad and I spend two or three full days constructing a legitimate igloo in our backyard. I would pack snow into a cooler to form the snow blocks and my dad would stack them up. We spent several nights sleeping in the igloo too. I suppose it pays to have a dad as an engineer.
